Low disk space on a PC can cause problems. Temporary and cached files can be cleaned using Disk Cleanup, but it does not remove duplicate files which often take up significant space. Duplicate files are copies of documents, media files, and other items created by Windows and other software during normal use and file copying. Downloading a duplicate file finder and deleting unnecessary duplicates can free up tens of gigabytes of space. Modifying a registry setting can also disable low disk space checks and resulting notifications.
