1. Locations
There is a large segment of my music video that will be shot in school (Ringwood School). This is
because I feel shooting in school will suggest to the viewer the age range and target market I am
attempting to target, because they are at school. This also then is coherent with Drum & Bass as a
genre, as the majority of people who listen to this type of music are in the age range of 15-21, which
is either school-age or university-age. Another reason why school is- I feel – a good choice, is
because of the proximity and ease of travel, in that I will already be in school so arranging transport
and other logistical issues will be entirely avoided.
Another segment of my film will be shot in The New Forest. Reasons for this are that it is a very
picturesque location (as seen above) and the wide open spaces contrast greatly with the enclosed
dense woodlands. This will enable me to shoot multiple shots that look like different locations in
very close proximity to each other. Speaking of proximity, another reason why I have decided to film
in this location would be because I live very close to it, making filming there very convenient and
easy, again reducing complications that arise when transport is required.
At this juncture, it would appear that due to the diversity and flexibility of the two locations I have
chosen, that these are the only two I will need. Between the two of them, these locations are
entirely encompassing and I will be comfortably able to film all of my desired shots in these
locations. I am happy with my choices.
