2. Urban outfitters- Birmingham
Wall in Digbeth
Coffee shop- Alpha Café/ Starbucks
Doorway
In front of another wall in Digbeth
Bus- Express bus ( easier to film on)
Street
LOCATIONS WE PLAN TO FILM IN:
3. This is the urban outfitters in
Birmingham town centre which
is the one we plan to film in.
Potential problems:
- Too busy and crowded.
- Not allowed to film inside.
- Could fall down the stairs.
How we will overcome
problems:
- We have permission from the
store manager to film in store
between 9-Noon, this way it
will not be busy.
- Wear appropriate footwear and
walk slowly.
URBAN OUTFITTERS
4. This wall is perfect for our video
as it features two girls in and is
quite indie.
Potential problems:
- There is not much pavement and
is a road right in front .
- May rain.
- There is a lamppost to the right
which could ruin our shot.
How we will overcome problems:
- Film at a quiet time ( 11am) so no
cars are coming so we can stand
in the road if necessary.
- Film on a day not forecasted to
rain.
- Film close enough that the
lamppost is not in shot.
WALL IN DIGBETH
5. This wall is on a corner but has
the contrasting colours so we
decided to film on it.
Problems:
- Wall is off a main road
- Cars
- Wind
Solutions:
- Be careful on the corner as cars
can come round the bend
- Don’t put the camera in the road,
film from quite close
2ND WALL IN DIGBETH
6. This is a potential coffee shop we
may film in, however it doesn’t
have an indie/ urban view it is
quite modern so we aren't sure if
we are going to film here.
Problems:
- Busy
- Rain (as we need to film the
outside from inside)
- Dark lighting
How we will overcome problems:
- Visit at a quiet time
- Go on a day not scheduled to rain
- Make sure its sunny.
COFFEE SHOP- STARBUCKS
7. This is another café that we could
film in, it is undercover and has
good aesthetic inside.
Problems:
- Busy
- Not getting permission to film
ALPHA CAFÉ
8. For one of our scenes we are to film
in front of a doorway that looks
quite old. We also need to film our
artist walking down a street and
this one we have chosen is always
quiet.
Problems:
- Slippy
- Someone could open the door from
behind
- Rain
- People walking infront of the
camera
How we will overcomes these issues
- Not stand directly in front of the
door
- Go on a dry day
- Film in the day when moderately
quiet
DOORWAY/ STREET
9. In one of our scenes our character
is on the bus, we need the bottom
floor of the bus as it has risen
seats and we have chosen the new
126 as it has grey interior and
looks better than the old buses.
Problems:
- Busy
- Too jerky and unsteady to film on
How we will overcome the
problems:
- The 126 is not usually busy during
the day
- Also the route it takes has been
refurbished so the road is flat so
filming should be smooth.
BUS
10. We have decided that all of our locations are a suitable place
to film in apart from Starbucks, this is because its always
quite busy and the view from the seats isn't very nice and
wouldn’t look good in our video. However the alpha café has
the perfect aesthetic and the view is better suited, we also
have already been given permission from the owner of the
building and even if it rains on the day we film that scene it
wont be a problem as the café is undercover.
From our location recces we have decided all of our locations
have been chosen well and we can overcome any potential
problems that could occur.
