A linear relationship exists between the input voltage Xt, output voltage Xi and the distance BC.

Electric transducer
A load cell is an electric transducer that converts force or weight into an electrical signal. It contains a strain gauge, which measures the strain (deformation) on a load cell when a force is applied. The strain gauge uses the piezoresistive effect - where electrical resistance changes with mechanical strain - to convert the strain into a change in electrical resistance. This resistance change is then measured with a Wheatstone bridge circuit and amplified to produce an output voltage proportional to the applied force. Load cells are commonly used to measure weights, forces, pressures and loads in various applications.

Dynamometers
Dynamometers are devices used to measure torque and power. There are two main types: absorption dynamometers which measure power by absorbing it, and transmission dynamometers which measure torque transmitted through a shaft. Examples of absorption dynamometers include Prony brake, rope brake, and hydraulic dynamometers. Transmission dynamometers include belt transmission, epicyclic gear train, and torsion dynamometers. Torsion dynamometers work by measuring the angle of twist in a shaft which is directly proportional to the transmitted torque.

LVDT stands for Linear Variable Differential Transformer. It is an electromechanical transducer that converts linear motion to an electrical signal. LVDTs have advantages like friction-free operation, infinite resolution, and single axis sensitivity. They are used in applications like automation machinery, civil engineering, manufacturing, and testing. LVDTs work using electromagnetic induction - a ferrous core inside alters the magnetic flux in two coils, producing an output voltage proportional to displacement. Common manufacturers include RDP, Macro Sensors, and Honeywell, with LVDTs typically costing a few hundred dollars.
LVDT
The LVDT is an inductive transducer that converts linear motion to electrical signals. It consists of a primary winding and two secondary windings placed on either side of the primary. A movable soft iron core is placed between the windings. As the core moves linearly, it induces changing voltages in the secondary windings. The difference between these voltages is proportional to the core's displacement, allowing the LVDT to accurately measure linear motion over a wide range. LVDTs have advantages like high sensitivity and ruggedness, but disadvantages such as sensitivity to stray magnetic fields. They are commonly used as secondary transducers to measure quantities that involve linear displacement.
Transducers

Fabrication of helical spring load testing machine

Its core banking applications run on the mainframe and Citizens was using legacy utilities to get the critical mainframe data to feed customer-facing channels, like call centers, web, and mobile. Ultimately, this led to higher operating costs (MIPS), delayed response times, and longer time to market.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity server
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).
