The document provides an evaluation of how the media product uses, develops, and challenges conventions of real media products. It discusses using page numbers for navigation, editing the main image over the masthead on the cover, using a non-primary color scheme, informal writing style, consistent fonts with variations, cover lines with large and small text, including a barcode, using a pull quote, mixing direct address and natural photography, and representing gender, ethnicity, age, and social groups. It also covers what was learned about technologies, software, research methods, the importance of planning, and skills with design programs.
LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

3. Market Place
For year one of my magazine SHUTTERS I am
looking to start of selling the magazines in London
and with the social media page already becoming
very popular quickly I will look to expand the areas
of the country including cities such as Manchester
Nottingham and Bristol. By the start of year 2 I will
hope to have generated a regular readership in these
areas and then start selling the magazine in Scotland
(Glasgow and Edinburgh) and Wales (Cardiff and
Swansea)
4. Target Audience
From research at
http://www.mediauk.com:8080/magazines/36168/nme
/readership-figures
It shows me that 93.1% of the readers are from the age of
15 to 34 with a weekly reading audience of 269000
compared to the 35+ weekly audience of 23,000 6.9%.
By having a young audience the magazine could attract
them with brighter colours and images to entice them
from looking at the front colour. In contrast to this the
35+ age group may not be attracted to Shutters because
the music is “Too young” for them.
5. Katz Uses & Gratifications
My magazine is able to fit 3 of the uses and gratifications
and these are:
Inform and Educate- This is because when you read my
magazine you are able to inform and educate yourself
with information you will not find in any other magazine
with the exclusive interviews.
Personal Identity- You are able to relate and replicate
your role models behaviour and interests to the
band/artist.
Entertainment- The readers is able to escape and relax
when reading my magazine as well as emotional release
6. Hartleys Subjectivities
The 7 subjectivities are age, gender , class, ethnicity,
self-image, nation and family.
For my magazine as mentioned previously the class
that my magazine is targeted at is A to C1.
Another of Hartley's subjectivities that is relate to my
magazine is the age of reader. From my primary and
secondary research I have found out that the
audience will be from 15 to 34 with it being a
potentially 92% of my readership.
7. Hartleys Subjectivities
Following on from secondary research at
http://www.mediauk.com/magazines/36168/nme/r
eadership-figures
It shows that 65.7% of the readers for NME are male
and as it is my main competitor i should try and aim
the content and advertisements more at males
compared to females as this is a larger potential
audience from the male gender.
8. Hartleys Subjectivities
The target audience for my readership are aged
between 15-34 this is from research into a similar
and magazine of inspiration NME
http://www.abc1demographic.co.uk Furthermore I
also carried out my own primary research will
solidified these results as 93% of the population I
asked that were interested in this genre of magazine
were aged between U18-24.
9. Target Audience-Hartleys Subjectivities
The 7 subjectivities are age, gender , class, ethnicity, self-image,
nation and family.
For my magazine the age group that I am targeting my magazine for
are aged between 16 to 35 as this is what age group from my
primary research were most popular. Furthermore NME readership
figures also match back this up as over 60% of there readers are
from this age range.
Following on I carried out primary research to see which gender
would be most interested into a new indie/rock magazine and
61.54% were male which
shows that for my magazine I am able
to identify what advertisements and
competitions should be carried out to
keep this audience purchasing the
monthly issue.
10. Target Audience-Hartleys Subjectivities
The social class I look to sell my magazine is the A-C1
because in my first year of sales I am starting in
London and then expanding from their. Currently
London is the country's most expensive living rates
which means that those can afford to live in London
are from London and this is where my target
audience for year 1 will be living. However with the
cheap price I am looking to expand the magazine
sales to other cities in the country including Leeds,
Manchester and Liverpool where living rates are
cheaper and can also afford my magazine every
month.
11. Socio Economic Needs
Socio-Economic Needs
In recent years there has been an increase of adults who
fall into the A,B and C1 Socio economic group which
means that the spending power of a growing audience is
getting larger meaning that potentially my magazine is
going to grow faster than first anticipated with this
research. I researched this from (Source at the bottom of
the page) Over 60% of readers are from the ABC1 band of
demographic 70% Of the readers are aged 15 to 34.
Source: http://www.abc1demographic.co.uk
12. Audience Profile
Age-18
Interests- Rock/Indie music
e.g. Arctic Monkeys Jake
Bugg Going to small gigs and
festivals Plays the guitar also
likes going to the cinema
interested in horror/thriller
movies
Currently a student studying
A-Levels and planning to go
to University
13. Test Photography
Initially this was going to be my image for the
front cover of the page however once taking
the image and placing it onto the Photoshop
template with all of the other test I did not
think it was fit for purpose so I decided to go
and take some different shots.
By using this test photography shot and
following my planning schedule it still left me
with enough time to retake the image and
place it onto the magazine still working along
side the production schedule to make sure the
rest of the magazine was finished.

The stand first for my

they have been on and
are discussing the
crowds they met and
performed for and
then leads into the
interview about what
they are planning for
the future and bigger
shows and arenas they
want to play next time
they are in the UK.
For the main headline
I have chosen the
swiss721 font which is
the same as the front
colour headline as I
think it stands out and
is eye catching to the
reader as well as fitting
to the genre.
The main image for my magazine is the lead
singer for the band while he was signing at
one of their recent gigs in London
There will be social media links at the bottom of
the page next to the magazine issue number so
that readers can keep up to date with latest news.

18. House Style (SHUTTERS)
The colours that I will use in my magazine will hold consistent
of red white and the image background as it is for my front
cover of the magazine.
I will have red text for the headline which will be on the top of
the page and spread across the middle of the page. Hopefully
when my magazine becomes more popular I will be able to
cover some of the masthead like Kerrang and NME do.
Red- It is associated with energy, power, determination as
well as passion, desire, and love.
White- It is associated with purity which is what Shutters
want to be as we produce an honest interview in our magazine
with hard working musicians to get there story across.
19. House Style (Off The Radar)
The colours I will use for my Off The Radar magazine will be
red and black because it will be a more heavy rock magazine
like Kerrang!
I will have red text for the headline which will be on the top of
the page and spread across the middle of the page. The
background I will use for my magazine throughout will be
black.
Black- relates to the hidden, the secretive and the unknown,
and as a result it creates an air of mystery. It keeps things
bottled up inside, hidden from the world. To find new artist
and bands which my magazine is focusing on.
Red-It is associated with energy, power, determination as well
as passion, desire, and love.
20. Magazine Dimensions
This is the magazine dimensions that NME use for
there front cover and double page spread.
The reason I will be using these dimensions for my
magazine is because they have used this size of
magazine since there first issue in 1952 and has since
been adopted by many other music magazines
including Kerrang and Q who are market leaders in
their genre of music.
22. Hand drawn Drafts Front Cover
The masthead for my magazine will
be SHUTTERS and will be in the
Lemon Milk font style I am going to
make the font colour white as it
follows the house style of
magazines of inspiration like Q and
NME
The puff promotion I have included
on the front cover shows that you
have a chance to win a prize if you
purchase and read the magazine.
By having the prize near the middle
of the magazine it makes the reader
read the whole magazine until the
end.
The strapline for my magazine is
new music discovered in which I
want my magazine to focus on
new artist and bands upcoming in
British Music industry
The main Headline I have chosen is `The
Killers` This will be in a bold red font
across the middle of the page which
follows the house style I have created for
the magazine also by using red it also
symbolises love and passion which my
magazine is for music.
The barcode is in the bottom right
corner with the social media sites
my magazine will be on keeping
readers up to date with latest news
and information about what's going
to be in the next issue
By having another two images in
the top right corner it can quickly
establish what other bands feature
within the magazine and are
available as a poster. This is
another way of getting readers by
offering free posters inside the
magazine
The main image on my magazine will be
one of the leading indie/rock artists of
the last ten years `The Killers` this gives
the magazine the star appeal to attract a
early large audience to the magazine.
23. Hand drawn draft (DPS)
The main headline for my
magazine I have chosen is `Alex
Turner` on the myriad pro font
style because it is very simple
and basic which Alex Turner
represents about the way he
makes music and doesn’t want
the attention on him as it is a
band. It will be in black font
colour because this is matches
his band logo.
The Interview will be on the
right hand side of the page
because it is split up evenly
with half of the page and
makes it easy to read. The
font colour I will be using for
this will be Read for questions
which matches the
background colour for
SHUTTERS masthead and
black for the answers to
establish the difference.
The stand first font my magazine is a
introduction about what the Arctic Monkeys
have done over the past year and just
recapping what s happening and an
introduction what the interview will be
about
The page number I have
chosen for the double page
spread is 49-50 because this
is directly in the middle of
the page and it is what NME
also do `Repeat` Steve Neal
1980 By having the dps in
the middle of the magazine
it allows the reader to reach
the middle and then carry on
reading the whole magazine
The main image for the DPS is
the artist with their arms out
with no background which will
convey the simplistic life that
the band want to live but are
getting frustrated with
everything the media attention
they are getting for things away
from music
24. Hand drawn Drafts Front Cover
The masthead for my magazine will

The promotion I have offered on
this draft are tickets to see Alt-J live
which is a very popular band after
there newly released album being
very popular across the country
giving the Richard Dyer Star
Appeal to Readers purchasing the
magazine
The main headline and image
for my magazine will be one of
the leading rock/indie artist
e.g. Arctic Monkeys with lead
singer Alex Turner being the
focus of the interview inside
the magazine and double page
spread.
25. Hand drawn draft (DPS)
I have decided to place the
interview on both the left and
ride hand side of the page
because the interview has a lot of
content I believe the reader will
want to know about and this is
the only way it can be put onto
the DPS. The font colours will be
red for the questions and black
for the answer as red is the house
colour of my magazine and black
is and easy to read colour on a
white background.
At the bottom of the page in the
middle I will have the social
media sites and issue no. to show
where to get the latest news and
information for the magazine
and what other issues they can
purchase if the have not read the
magazine before.
The page number I have chosen for the
double page spread is 49-50 because this is
directly in the middle of the page and it is
what NME also do `Repeat` Steve Neal
1980 By having the dps in the middle of the

The stand first font my
magazine is a introduction
about what the Killers have
been doing for the last ten
years and what they have
done to get where they are
now and the interview will
lead onto what they want to
do in the future.
The main headline for the
double page spread is `A
decade of history` as I
interview about what hey
have done in the last ten
years and what they are
looking to do in the future
and goals the y have set to
reach.
The main image for the DPS is to be in the
middle of page as it represents that the
artists tis the centre of attention and
everyone is looking to him to see what the
future of The Killers holds.
27. Final Front cover
Main Image
As well as the masthead the main
image is just as powerful as it stand
out the most on the front cover. By
using the most recognised
celebrity/musician as the main
image means that it gives the
readers and new readers the star
appeal to purchase the magazine in
my magazine I have used `The
Killers’ for this star appeal
Masthead
The bright colours and large text
size makes the masthead very
noticeable and recognisable
which helps the magazines brand
name stand out. This is often
what attracts the reader to a
magazine or not so it was crucial
that I made sure that my
masthead was fit for the genre of
my magazine.
Date
The date is a very important for a
magazine and is always essential
due to keeping readers on track of
which monthly issue the magazine
is.

This is the seconds largest piece of
text on the front cover behind the
masthead this is because they want
it to be noticeable and stand out to
the potential reader looking for a
magazine and the monthly
subscribers. It is also a similar
colour to the masthead to use the
house style throughout the
magazine
Cover Lines
These are articles and interviews
that persuade the reader to
purchase the magazine more. These
cover lines promote an exclusive to
their magazine with George Ezra
29. Final Double Page Spread
Drop Capital
They are used to grab
the readers attention
because they can add
visual attraction to the
page and make a
difference between the
other pages in the
magazine
Pull Quote
Pull quotes are used to
attract the reader with an
interesting quote or
statement the interviewee
could have said. They are
also used to break up long
blocks of text to maintain
the readers attention.
Synergy with social media
I have used synergy with my social media channels
because it allows the reader to follow the magazine
on social media so they can keep up to date every day
as well as purchasing the magazine once a month.
Date an Issue no.
This is important because it keeps readers up to date
with the month and issue they are reading and what
other issues are available
Main image
This image is showing
that the Killers are
looking from where
they have been and
where they are now
after winning an
award moments
before interviewing
them for the DPS
interview. The reason
the image is in the
middle of the page is
because he takes
centre stage when
performing
Headline Text Colour
The text colour that I have chosen is red
because this matches the house style of my
front cover and clearly establishes what is
the question and what the answer is
This is a very simple headline just
stating who the interview is with
and has enough star appeal to
make the reader follow the whole
interview.
30. Conclusion
To start this learning outcome by creating two different
music magazine proposals it gave me an idea of what
genre of music I would like to focus on (Rock/Indie)
Also when creating the market place I felt more confident
creating this magazine compared to the heavier rock
magazine I was also thinking about doing.
However from my first draft front cover and DPS to my
final copies I believe that they are fit for purpose and
represent the house style and genre of music I want to
produce a magazine for.
