This document provides instructions and examples for structuring a Live Binder project. It outlines the following:
1) The introduction tab should include the project title and class name, and the student bio subtab should introduce the student with an avatar and desired learnings.
2) Each weekly tab should include a title for the week, and subtabs in this order: project proposal, tasks, any supporting materials, and a reflection.
3) Samples are provided for a student bio, project proposal, tasks record, and reflection.
4) The conclusion emphasizes that the binder will be worth a third of the student's grade and instructs students to review and proofread their work before final presentation.

Report Overview
In this assignment, you will
Document and reflect on your university education and on learning experiences outside of the university;
Articulate how your upper-level coursework is an integrated and individualized curriculum built around your interests; and
Highlight the experiences, skills, and projects that show what you can do.
A successful report submission will be the product of many hours of work over several weeks.
A report earning maximum available points will be a carefully curated and edited explanation of your work that provides tangible evidence of—and insights into—your competencies and capabilities over time. In each section of this report, you are (1) telling a story about your own abilities, and (2) providing specific examples and evidence that illustrate and support your claims.
✍
Required Report Sections
Here the sections are listed as they must appear in your final graded submission. You’ll arrange the sections in this order when
submitting
the final report BUT you won’t follow this order when
writing
drafts of each section.
Note that each section description contains a Pro Tip that tells you how to proceed with the work – what to attempt first, second, and third, etc.
❖ I. Statement of Purpose ❖
Step 1.
Read these four very different
examples of successful Statement of Purpose sections
.
Step 2.
Consider the differences in tone, style, level of detail etc. Your own statement of purpose may resemble one of these. Indeed, writing a first draft based on an example or combination of examples is a good idea. BUT don’t let these examples limit your thinking or personal expression. You may want to begin with a quote from a famous person, use a quote from your mom, or skip the quote. You may want to discuss your personal motivations or get right down to the facts. You may want to list your classes or discuss how your work-life led you to this path.
Step 3.
Write a rough draft – let’s call that Statement of Purpose 1.0. Write Statement of Purpose 1.0 as quickly as you can and then put it away until after you have completed most of the report. Forget about Statement of Purpose 1.0 until most of your report is at least in draft form.
Step 4.
Once you have a draft of all sections of your report, you are in a good position to revise Statement of Purpose 1. You are ready for Step 4. Take Statement of Purpose 1.0 out its dusty vault and hold it up to the sun. Ah. Now read your report draft and compare it to the claims you made in Statement of Purpose 1.0. Ask yourself these questions:
Does Statement of Purpose 1.0. accurately introduce my report?
Are there important ideas or representative experiences in the report that should be highlighted in the Statement of Purpose but aren’t? Remember this isn’t a treasure hunt where its your reader’s job to figure out what matters. It’s your job to show the reader what matters.
If Statement of Purpose 1.0. isn’t the best map it can be for th.
Ashford 3: Week 2 Instructor Guidance
Planning, Writing Introductions, and Using Quotes
in a College Level Writing Class
Please think about these two important questions and after you have finished reviewing the Instructor
Guidance. Your instructor may want you to provide your answer to the questions at the end of the page.
Opening Question 1: What are the most important elements of an introduction?
Opening Question 2: Explain why the skill of integrating quotations is a key component to
academic success.
Overview of Week
In Week Two, we build on the insights gained from the foundation of Week One. Reflecting on the lessons from the
first assignments and from interacting with peers, we will develop strategies for improvement. This week, we will
work through the process of moving the personal essay to the next stage.
So, what are the next steps?
● First, everyone will develop a comprehensive outline.
See Section 4.4 in your etext: “Writing in Action: Producing a Formal Outline”
● Next, everyone will write an introductory paragraph.
See Section 5.1 in your etext: “Writing in Action: Strategies for Hooking the Reader”
APA Journal Assignment
Another important element of Week Two is the APA journal assignment which focuses on academic writing. The
style of the APA journal assignment contrasts with the writing of a personal essay. The emphasis for this week’s
APA journal assignment is effectively integrating a quote into a paragraph, a key component of academic writing.
Reminders:
● Academic writing almost always requires writing from sources, so this skill is essential to your academic
success!
●
● Students will not be able to access some of the activities until certain tasks are completed. For
example, students must have completed the Writing Center Acknowledgement located in Week
One to move forward to the Week Two discussion questions or assignments this week.
●
● Students should not confuse the APA journal assignment with a personal journal. The APA
journal requires organization, effective style and grammar, and proper integration of your source.
It is not an area for freewriting or reflective writing.
Elaboration
● Instructors: You may use the section below or you may provide your own personal
intellectual elaboration on the week’s content, (Be sure to model APA citation for any resources
you quote in your elaboration).

Most of us would not consider taking a trip, building a house, moving to a new location, organizing a wedding, or
changing jobs without first putting some time into a planning stage. Certainly, taking a trip to Europe for a month
would take more planning than a weekend visit to a friend, still each takes some effort in planning to make the trip
successful. Organizations and businesses, too, need planning to be successful. For example.

Melissa: Hello, everyone. And welcome. I'm Melissa Sharpe, and I'm a writing instructor here at the Walden Writing Center. Before we begin and I hand the session over to Michael, I want to go over a few housekeeping items. First, we are recording this webinar. Although, it helps when you push the button. Okay.
Hi, everybody. We are now recording the webinar. And, so, you are welcome to access it at a later date through the webinar archive. In fact, note that we record all of our webinars so you are welcome to look through that archive for other recordings that may interest you. Also, whether you are attending this webinar live or watching the recording, you will find that we have some interactive elements like links and chats, as well as files which you can find in the file pod. If you look on the bottom of the screen, you'll see the PowerPoint slides Michael will be sharing today and you are welcome to download those. You can interact with all of the links and chats throughout tonight’s webinar. We also welcome questions and comments throughout the session, and you can use the Q & A box for these. Both Kacy and myself will be watching this Q & A box. And we are happy and excited to answer questions throughout the session as Michael is talking. You are also welcome to send any technical issues you have to us here as well. Although note, there is a help option in the top right corner of your screen. This is Adobe's technical support, so that is the best place to go if you need technical help. All right. And with that, I will hand it over to Michael.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
How to Make a Field invisible in Odoo 17Celine George
It is possible to hide or invisible some fields in odoo. Commonly using “invisible” attribute in the field definition to invisible the fields. This slide will show how to make a field invisible in odoo 17.
2. Introduction Tab When you click the Introduction tab, you should see a title: your binder and the class name. When you click the Student Bio subtab, there should be a introduction to you, your avatar, and your them or desired learnings for SL. No last names.
3. Week 1 When I click on the Week 1 tab, I should see a title that says Week 1. The project proposal should be completed according to the items I put into the first few week’s proposal. Complete means there is writing from you after every line. The project presentation type is your way of showing the teacher you did the work. Tasks should be listed under the Tasks subtab. This means the assignment number if you are doing weeks 1-16, and your description of the tasks for your own projects. Reflection should be at least five sentences long. It should tell me the things you did, the things you learned, what you think about how you used your time, and ideas for better project management in the future.
4. Order of Weekly Tabs The first page, the divider for the week, should have a title on each one. The subtabs should be in this order: Project Proposal Tasks Any pictures or links to videos or PPT presentations, written assignments, etc. Reflection
10. Sample Reflection This week has been really hard. I have been struggling with trying to get my personal space done and also trying to find out how to make the presentation. I learned this week about the importance of "physical" while building and about transparency and windows. I have not gotten all of the assignments done, but I will continue working during this weekend to finish everything needed. I believe that I don't deserve and A though. I was not on task the whole time and I didn't get the assignments in on time. I don't believe I deserve a bad grade either though, I spent time at home and free time during classes to make sure that I didn't get behind. I think that the grade I deserve is a B.
11. Conclusion Your binder is going to be worth at least a third of your trimester trade. There are a lot of missing pieces to the binders. Many subtabs are out of order. Some of you haven’t proofed your writing. Errors are glaring at all those who look at it. It would be a good idea to spend some time reviewing every tab before you prepare for your final presentation. Debbie has the outline of the final presentation and how it will be graded.
