Drexel New Media Marketing: Intro to SEOEmma Still
This document provides an overview of search engine optimization (SEO) strategies. It discusses the three primary elements of SEO: on-page factors, in-page technical factors, and off-page factors like link building and local citation building. On-page factors that help rankings include relevant keywords, high-quality content and architecture. In-page technical optimization ensures bots can easily access content. Off-page factors involve developing relationships to obtain links from other sites, which signals authority to search engines. Social media can also indirectly help SEO by increasing awareness, engagement and potential for future links. The document emphasizes creating valuable content over quick tactics and stresses SEO requires ongoing effort over time.
Social signals are now an important part of search engine algorithms according to Google, but many companies still fail at SEO because of organizational barriers between departments like SEO, social media, PR, and IT. To succeed, companies need to remove these barriers by restructuring teams to be more focused on campaigns and consumer value rather than traditional departmental structures. Presenting measurable revenue figures from SEO and social media campaigns can help convince CEOs to make these organizational changes.

Aligning Your Social Media Strategies with Your Other Marketing Channels - Ju...Julie Perry
As of January 2014, 74 percent of Internet users are active on social networks, according to Pew Research. That percent, which has surely grown over the past 12 months, proves that social media is a channel marketers cannot ignore. But how do you coordinate social strategies with the other channels you market in? Julie Perry, will answer this question and more.
During this fast-paced webinar, you'll learn how to blend inbound, social media marketing strategies with your existing outbound and direct marketing campaigns to:
(1) Maximize your next tradeshow or networking event by harnessing the power of Twitter and Twitter Lists
(2) Amp up your direct mail campaigns by bringing prospects online and engaging them with sharable content
(3) Give your content marketing efforts a boost by amplifying them to your ideal target audience on Facebook (and yes, your audience IS on Facebook!) and LinkedIn
(4) Grow your email list and increase brand engagement with social media contests
We will also look at the difference between inbound marketing and outbound marketing, while discussing how the most effective marketing strategies today are ones that integrate the two. This presentation offers ways to use not just one channel or one mode of marketing, but rather, it recommends ways to integrate both push and pull marketing tactics and use them in tandem so they play off one another. There is currently a convergence of marketing channels: owned, earned and paid. Today, you must integrate your outbound and inbound marketing tactics in order to keep up with the new, dynamic customer journey.
Included in this presentation are examples of effective tradeshow marketing tactics (pre, during, and post), direct mail campaign tactics, LinkedIn Advertising campaigns, and leveraging social media contests using the service Rafflecopter on social sites like Facebook and Twitter to build your email subscribers.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity serverAntonios Katsarakis
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).

Chris Jones, Director of Product Management at BrainChip , presents the “Temporal Event Neural Networks: A More Efficient Alternative to the Transformer” tutorial at the May 2024 Embedded Vision Summit.
The expansion of AI services necessitates enhanced computational capabilities on edge devices. Temporal Event Neural Networks (TENNs), developed by BrainChip, represent a novel and highly efficient state-space network. TENNs demonstrate exceptional proficiency in handling multi-dimensional streaming data, facilitating advancements in object detection, action recognition, speech enhancement and language model/sequence generation. Through the utilization of polynomial-based continuous convolutions, TENNs streamline models, expedite training processes and significantly diminish memory requirements, achieving notable reductions of up to 50x in parameters and 5,000x in energy consumption compared to prevailing methodologies like transformers.
Integration with BrainChip’s Akida neuromorphic hardware IP further enhances TENNs’ capabilities, enabling the realization of highly capable, portable and passively cooled edge devices. This presentation delves into the technical innovations underlying TENNs, presents real-world benchmarks, and elucidates how this cutting-edge approach is positioned to revolutionize edge AI across diverse applications.

Introduction of Cybersecurity with OSS at Code Europe 2024Hiroshi SHIBATA
I develop the Ruby programming language, RubyGems, and Bundler, which are package managers for Ruby. Today, I will introduce how to enhance the security of your application using open-source software (OSS) examples from Ruby and RubyGems.
The first topic is CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). I have published CVEs many times. But what exactly is a CVE? I'll provide a basic understanding of CVEs and explain how to detect and handle vulnerabilities in OSS.
Next, let's discuss package managers. Package managers play a critical role in the OSS ecosystem. I'll explain how to manage library dependencies in your application.
I'll share insights into how the Ruby and RubyGems core team works to keep our ecosystem safe. By the end of this talk, you'll have a better understanding of how to safeguard your code.
