Two Sides Now Autonomy
In the House episode, Both Sides Now, the normative principle of autonomy is explored and seriously
called into question between House and Cuddy. When understanding the normative principle of
autonomy is to acknowledging a person s freedom over his or her actions or physical body. House
goes to great lengths to hurt Cuddy personally, and as an employee. In this episode Dr. House feels
that Cuddy is lying to him about either last night or that day about something. House does everything
possible to make Cuddy mad. But instead of breaking Cuddy s autonomy to find out the lie it is House
that is the one that ends up losing his autonomy.

Cuddy continues crying in her office, and House walks in to ask her if she had more than one lipstick
and if maybe she s over reacting. Finally, she realizes that they could never have a personal
relationship, and House is confused since he had told her he needed her. But, everything House said to
her that day, and the night before calling her baby a bastard. She knew that she had enough from
House. By Cuddy getting her autonomy back she was able to protect herself from House hurting her
or her child. Suddenly House replays the night before with the things that were said between them and
her leaving, the other was her staying to help. As for the lipstick House pulls it out of his pocket, and
notices that it was the bottle of Vicodin. Next, House replays back the night with her and alone, he
realizes that they had not slept together. House remembers that the lipstick was actually him twirling
the bottle of Vicodin and popping the pills. With everything that had happened House realized that he
was not okay and that he lost his autonomy. Cuddy knew that she could not be the one to help him,

Russell Wilson Research Paper
Jaxon King Mr. Bergmann Senior English P1 1 September 2015 Russell Wilson Can Russell Wilson
be the best NFL quarterback within his first three years? Without a doubt Russell Wilson has proved
he is better then most hall of fame quarterbacks. By using his statistics, his win loss record, and his
super bowl appearances it will show why Russell Wilson is the best quarterback ever. Being a
quarterback in your first three years is hard to be compared to some of the hall of famers. Although,
hall of famers like Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, and Johnny Unitas had great careers, Russell Wilson
is the best quarterback in his first three years. Russel Wilson s statistics were more superior then some
of the greatest quarterbacks in history. Russell Wilson ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Joe Montana had a record of twenty one wins, and twenty seven losses. Terry Bradshaw had a record
of twenty two wins twenty six losses. Johnny Unitas had a record of twenty one wins, and fifteen
losses. Johnny Unitas played when a regular season consisted of twelve games. Do not let that fool
you because if you were to take the percentage of all those records you will clearly see Russell Wilson
has the best record. Russell Wilson won a total of thirty six out of forty eight games. His percentage
was he won seventy five percent of his games. Joe Montana won forty three percent of his games.
Terry Bradshaw won a total of forty five percent of his games. With Johnny Unitas only playing thirty
six games and only winning twenty one of those games. He only won fifty eight percent of his games.
The final way to prove he is the greatest quarterback to me is his appearances to the super bowl.
Russell Wilson has played a total of three full seasons. In those seasons Russell Wilson has made a
total of two back to back appearances to the super bowl. Joe Montana has appeared in only one super
bowl in his first three years. Terry Bradshaw unfortunately did not appear in any super bowls for his
first three years. Johnny Unitas like Joe Montana only appeared in one super bowl in three years.
Russell Wilson won one out of two super bowls he appeared in. Russell Wilson was also the youngest

Ethical Health Care Issues Paper
Health care staff governed to perform their professional duties based on the practice acts from the
professional licensing boards under the statutes of the states. The professional duties include the
balance between competency in skills, and application of ethics that will help promote the provision of
the quality of care to the public (Harris, 2008). However, there are ethical health care issues that health
care professionals encounter with their patients. One ethical health care issue is the refusal of a patient
for treatment, such as receiving blood transfusion because of his or her religious beliefs. ... Show more

The validity of the informed consent should consist of three factors. First, the patient is competent to
give an informed consent by verbalizing or acknowledging understanding of the nature of the
treatment plans. Second, the patient should give consent willfully without an undue influence or threat
from other individuals. Third, the patient should receive full disclosure, including the risks, and
benefits of the treatment plans from his or her physician (McInroy, 2005).
The ethical principles of beneficence, and nonmaleficence from a patient who is refusing blood
transfusion believed that refusal of this treatment would honor the benefits over harm. Based on the
values practiced among the Jehovah s Witness members, the harm resulting from receiving the blood
transfusion will cause a dismissal in achieving an eternal salvation. Nevertheless, the harm resulting
from refusing the blood transfusion will create less harm, which is the end of one s mortal life on
earth. The belief of the Jehovah s Witness members pertains to a rational decision, which the eternal
salvation preferred substantially compared with the additional years of temporary life on earth
(Macklin, 2003). The ethical principle of justice from a patient pertains to a fair, and equal provision
of respect regardless of the patient s cultural or religious beliefs. However, the

First Death In Nova Scotia, Sestina, And In The Waiting Room
Childhood memories serve as significant elements within Elizabeth Bishop s poetry. Elizabeth Bishop
illustrates childhood as an innocent and cherished entity. External factors, such as death and loss,
jeopardize the fragility, or naiveté, of childhood. Bishop s poetry highlights the brevity of life through
the reappearing subject of mortality and loss. The reoccurring themes of childhood, grief, and
transience are prevalent within the poems First Death in Nova Scotia, Sestina, and In the Waiting
Room. Childhood represents a fundamental theme within the poems First Death in Nova Scotia,
Sestina, and In the Waiting Room. Each poem depicts the delicate nature of childhood and its state of
innate virtuousness. Bishop conveys the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Sestina, Bishop describes the sorrowful tale of a grandmother and child suffering through a painful
loss. Although the grandmother attempts to remain joyful and resilient to shelter the child, the woman
s tears uncover her anguish. Noticing the grandmother s tears, the child paints a picture for her in
order to make her feel happier and proud. With its storybook tone, Sestina relays wondering and
otherworldly details brought on by the child s imagination (Paul). Towards the end of the poem, the
buttons become little moons and fall down like tears and into the flower bed within the child s
painting (Axelrod). The child utilizes their creativity to initiate other fanciful images. Of course, this
goes unnoticed by the grandmother as these fairy tale occurrences transpired from the child s own
mind and creativity. The inclusion of playful and innocent representations in Sestina bolsters the
theme of youth and the righteousness that accompanies it. Additionally, the setting of the poem
maintains a crucial element to relay the theme of childhood to the reader. According to Jay Paul,
Bishop arranged the poem so that it occurs during a turning point a liminal moment. Also, objects
placed in the setting, such as the stove, are reminiscent of fairy tales

The Presidential Election Of 1984
The United States presidential election of 1984 was the 50th quadrennial presidential election. It was
held on Tuesday, November 6, 1984. The presidential race was between the incumbent Republican
candidate, President Ronald Reagan, and former Vice President Democratic candidate, Walter
Mondale. Reagan was helped in the election by a strong economic recovery from the deep recession of
1981 1982. Reagan carried 49 of the 50 states, becoming only the second presidential candidate to do
so after Richard Nixon s victory in the 1972 presidential election. Mondale s only electoral votes came
from the District of Columbia, which has always been considered a Democratic guarantee, and his
home state of Minnesota which he won by a mere 3761 votes, meaning Reagan came within 3800
votes of winning all fifty states. Reagan s 525 electoral votes (out of 538) is the highest total ever
received by a presidential candidate. Mondale s 13 electoral votes is also the 2nd fewest ever received
by a second place candidate, second only to lf Landon s 8 in 1936. In the national popular vote,
Reagan received 58.8% to Mondale s 40.6% (2016, 270towin.com)
For a long period, candidates running for President of the United States often have what s called a
campaign strategy to help attract voters attention. The more voters they attracted, more likely those
voters would choose them as their president elect. Technology has played a key role in doing that for
past elections and current ones. During

Roswell Truth Covered In Lies
Roswell: The truth covered in lies
The truth covered in lies in Roswell, is a topic that has been talked about since 1947 that doesn t seem
ti end for a long time. Was the event that occurred in New Mexico really a UFO? Did the government
covered up the story and say it was a weather balloon? What is The Project Mogul about? Were the
real aliens covered by Dummy Drops ? These are questions that have been asked along with others,
and the people have been answering in their own ways, based on their theories and reasons, but what
experts think is that the government covered up the story, and why? is a good question.
The origin of this event and many others began in Roswell, New Mexico in the summer of 1947. Kal

Kiva Essay
Has anyone ever wondered why someone would help people in need, there must be a reason; right?
Well, there are a lot more people in need than you would imagine. Luckily there is Kiva. Kiva is a
global nonprofit organization, that focuses on providing microfinance loans for funding a variety of
projects around the world (Kiva.org). The money is collected from individuals around the world and is
given to someone in need for specific resources like food, education, shelter and many other things.
These loans are all to improve someone s quality of life. The quality of life is the general gross of
health, shelter, food to a specific person, group or community (Collinsdictionary.com). Kiva lets you
choose a certain project that you would like to lend money to and the loans range from twenty five to
five hundred dollars (Kiva.org). One of the projects found on Kiva.org is Victoria living in Achuta

General Aggression Model Of Human Aggression
Part 1. Violence
Mechanism of GAM
General Aggression Model (GAM) represents a theoretical basis for social cognitive integrated model
of human aggression, and aims at the interpretation of the connection between the motivation of
aggression, and the following aggressive behavior, aggressive effect (i.e., physiological stimulation),
aggressive cognition, (i.e., thoughts), reduced pro social behavior, and reduced empathy (i.e.,
emotional facets) (Anderson and Bushman, 2001; Barlett and Anderson 2013). As a process model,
GAM can be divided into two explanatory mechanisms; a) proximate and distal GAM (Anderson
Carnagey, 2004) or b) proximate GAM as single episode GAM and multiple episode GAM (see.
Anderson Bushman, 2001) as (long term) effects of repetitive violence viewing (Barlett Anderson,
2013).
In the single episode model, GAM describes a continuous cycle of interaction between
personal/biological and situational/violent media exposure variables/modifiers; situational input
variables influence aggressive behavior through their impact on the person s present internal state (e.g.
personality/hostility traits, emotions or attitudes), represented by cognitive, affective and arousal
variables. The present internal state of a person in GAM is the result of the interaction among between
affect, arousal, and cognition (i.e., the activation/priming of one of them leads to the activation of
other two) (Anderson and Dill, 2001). Sequentially, internal states influences

How Did George Dewey Conquer The Philippines
On the morning of April 30th, 1898, George Dewey set his sights on capturing Manila Bay. Opposing
his crew, he opted to attack Manila through Subic Bay. This would be a crucial point to capture and
hold while they fight the Philippines across the bay in Manila. He predicted that the Spanish were
back at Cavite, protecting the capital, instead of holding down the provincial port at Subic. This
decision was risky for Dewey. With this strategic point effectively occupied, no hostile commander in
chief would think of passing it. (1) Dewey s sharp and quick decision making during the battle proved
why he was crucial for a U.S. victory.

composed but determined...He knows what to do and does it. He always seemed like he had control of
any situation no matter how bad or good it was. A fine night for a smoke, eh Gridley, said Dewey,
loading ammo and food onto the vessel. At some points, he also helped out his men do their jobs.
Dewey went from lookout to lookout, personally giving them directions to keep a sharp and vigilant
watch for the enemy.
Before the battle of Manila, Dewey had some help scoping out the bay for sea mines and if a squadron
was camped out by the entrance. Consul Williams who went to the extreme to deliver the information
to Dewey, helped him immensely. At one point, he was threatened by a mob in the Philippines who
identified him as a spy for the United States. But Dewey greatly appreciated his presence. Through
him we learned of the mounting of six new guns on Corregidor, on the entrance at Manila Bay. Dewey

state championship in Milan. This was deemed to be The Milan Miracle of 1954. He went on to play
in college, and was one of the best free throw shooters. His pro career ended abruptly from a collapsed
lung. After Plump recovered, he played competitive basketball till he was 72. This is success in itself
for anyone to play competitively at that age.
Lastly, I will explain some of the successes in my life. Sports are a big part of my life and they have
been relatively successful for me. Let s start with football. When I was on JV, I never lost a game, and
beat all opponents by a hefty margin. My freshman year alone, we outscored other teams 394 96. We
faltered my junior year, losing our first game in the playoffs for a record of 6 4. Even though we lost
four games they were all within a touchdown. My senior year was one of the best. We only lost one
game in the regular season, and lost our last game in the playoffs by one score both times to the same
team. My overall record is 33 6. From this amazing year, I got the second team all conference award.
This is just one successful sport; I also participate in wrestling. As a team we were very successful. We

Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie Essay
Muriel Sparks The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie tells the story of the extraordinary Miss Brodie, a
teacher at a school located in Edinburgh in the late 1930 s. She has a set of six girls, her crème de la
crème , who are called the Brodie set. One of the things that characterizes this novel is the way time is
used. Instead of telling the story in a chronological order the author writes in a non sequential way,
having paid a lot of attention to the order in which the events are told. This has an effect on the
characterization of the character of Rose Stanley and Miss Jean Brodie herself, as focalized through
the Brodie girls. Instead of beginning the novel with the first year of Miss Brodie teaching her six

Diversity In The Entertainment Industry
In a study of 414 films and television series, only 33 percent of all characters were women, and only
28 percent were of racial minority status (Associated Press). Casting diversely in entertainment has
been an issue for years and has recently spawned many controversies such as the 2016 Oscar
Controversy where an outrage occurred due to a lack of minority Oscar winners. Many cultures and
races fell underrepresented and cast aside by film and television. The entertainment industry should
cast more diverse actors because it increases viewership, provides a broader perspective, and creates a
more realistic setting. By casting more diverse actors, the American entertainment industry is able to
increase viewership in both television and film. To begin with, diverse casting allows for higher
television show ratings. For example, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Point Arena Mountain Beaver
The Point Arena mountain beaver (Aplodontia rufa nigra) is a federally listed endangered subspecies
that is restricted to the small area of Point Arena, in coastal Mendocino County, California (Zielinski,
et al., 2013). (See Figure 1). The Point Arena mountain beaver is a dark brown, medium sized
burrowing rodent with small ears and eyes, and long whiskers and claws (National Park Service
(NPS), n.d.). The subspecies is semi fossorial, spending most of its five to six year lifespan in
underground burrows (United States Fish Wildlife Service (USFWS), 2011). The burrows are
typically found on moist and steep north facing slopes or in well drained gullies; each burrow contains
separate chambers for food storage, nesting, and excrement (NPS, ... Show more content on

The subspecies was also listed as a highest priority Species of Special Concern by the State of
California (USFWS, 1998). There are many factors that play into why the Point Arena mountain
beaver is classified as endangered. In addition to their low reproductive rate, according to USFWS
(1998), the vulnerability of the mountain beaver results from two reasons: 1) few populations with
extremely limited distribution; and 2) the number of individual populations are low. Habitat loss and
fragmentation is another concern for the Point Arena mountain beaver, any disaster, natural or
manmade, has the potential to impact the subspecies (USFWS, 1998). These threats include,
elimination or degradation from land development, livestock grazing, transportation and utility
corridors, invasion of alien plant species, and timber harvest (USFWS, 1998). Additional threats to the
subspecies include, predation by feral animals and household pets, poisoning, human caused
disturbances, clumped and fragmented distribution, vulnerability to localized catastrophic events, like
fires, storms, landslides, flooding, prolonged drought, and/or disease, and most notably genetic

Strategies Of Improving Increase Reading Comprehension
Strategies of improving prosody in order to increase reading comprehension has been a concept in
which I have been struggling with in order to better assist my first grade students. I began this process
thinking that I needed to have the students look at the punctuation and text features within the text, as
well as the pictures to better assist them with their understanding of the text. I feel as though many
students rush to complete the readings quickly without an understanding of the words that are being
read. I have begun to realize that the students are familiar with testing for the rate of fluency so often
that I need to address other reasons for reading and the strategies that should be implemented before
they begin reading the text. While I understand the importance of reading with automaticity and the
skill development involved with addressing punctuation, reading with expression and meaning should
also be a focus of reading development. During my research, I realized the topic of prosody needs to
be clearly defined, although its importance to reading comprehension is unclear. I have also come to
the realization that the methods I am implementing within the classroom are consistent with current
literacy research. This research includes both traditional and new literacy methods. Most literacy
educators consider fluency to be a critical component of reading development. Reading with fluency is
important because it provides a bridge between word recognition and

Drug Trafficking In Brazil
Being a country that has little to no data about the drug trafficking and use in many of their cities,
Brazil does pose a tough task to analyze at the macro level. Rio de Janeiro is a perculiar place in
Brazil that is prime for research of these problems due to the availability of quality data, the influence
of the government on the behavior and customs of their citizens, and the importance of the city when
it comes to drug trafficking and the policies against it. In the articles by Pengalese and Koonings they

They attempted to consolidate the states control over the communities and to reestablish peaceful
involvement in these communities thus allowing the people to exercise their full citizenship. The main
problem lied with the police, with the growing violence, money and influence the drug trade had on
the daily lives of all Brazilians, this led to corruption among many of the officers that swore to protect.
Since the police carry out activities that the government does not want openly acknowledged, the
police often turn to criminal activity as ways of funding and carrying out their operations. Illegality is
allowed and tolerated, even encouraged, if it is in the name of fighting subversion. But once the
subversive threat is eliminated, the networks that tie police to illegal activities, and the practice of
turning a blind eye to official illegality and corruption, remain in place (Pengalese, 131, 2008).
Leading to a never ending cycle of corruption that is occurring throughout. Not all police officers are
corrupt though, but it has been shown that the policies and high level of violence from the police are
ineffective ways of preventing drug trafficking and reducing crime. They, instead maintain the violent

This was the shining moment of America. Freedom was theirs, and this is what they have
been wanting since the pilgrims arrived almost two centuries before. They were now going
to take on an even greater task then fighting the British: establishing a system of government

The 13 states were all different in their own respects, and each

After the American Revolution, the government was deep in debt. The Secretary of the Treasury,
Alexander Hamilton, proposed a bill that would stop the national debt from growing or even reduce it.
This bill, which was approved by both houses in the winter session of Congress in 1791, put an excise
tax on all spiritus fermenti, or whiskey (Pike 1). The tax was an ad valorem tax that added twenty five
percent to the value of whiskey. Needless to say, this was not well accepted and the peoples opposition
to it would become one of the first tests of power the new government would have to face.
The thing about this tax is that the amount that had to be paid varied with how much was being
produced. Large producers would only have to pay an annual tax of about six cents per gallon because
they produced so much. This price could also be reduced if they created the whiskey in even larger
quantities. On the other hand, there were also the small producers, that were mostly farmers, who
made whiskey because grain was very hard to transport across the mountains, and making the grain
into whiskey was much easier to carry across the mountains and much more profitable. These smaller
producers had to pay around nine cents per gallon because they produced

Organizations for People Fifty and Over Today
I believe that AARP is one of the leading organizations for people fifty and over today and known
worldwide. The initial process that brought this powerful group forward was the idea of Dr.Ethyl
Percy. Dr. Percy is an important figure for retired teachers in the 1940 s (International Directory of
Company Histories, 2009). Dr. Percy, is reflected as being the main female in history that led a high
school platform as principle (International Directory of Company Histories, 2009). As retirement
came forward, Dr. Percy had an interest in the well being of colleagues that retired as she, and had
little means to live on. With this in mind, Dr.Percy initialized the National Retired Teachers
Association beginning in 1947(International Directory of Company Histories, 2009). This tremendous
woman added a living structure for the retired teachers and provided a nursing home, which she alone

Davis was associated with, began enrolling these retired teachers in need and opened up the first

great as policies distributed through the mail, and monetary proceeds began to add up very quickly.
Dr. Percy again paired up with Leonard Davis and invested excess proceeds gained from Leonard

Charles Manson Accomplishments
Charles Manson was an illegitimate, unplanned child, born to a 16 year old mother. His mother was
irresponsible, into drugs and criminal activity, and unable to care for a child. She reportedly sold him
when he was a young child for a pitcher of beer (Henderson). Sounds like an amazing childhood,
right. Wrong. Charles Manson was bounced around from house to house, and because of that, his
childhood was not that great. Because of his nerve wrecking childhood, Manson was bound to be a
criminal. As the years went by and time took its course, Manson decided that he wanted to take a new
turn in life and become a star.
All Charles Manson wanted to be was a music sensation and this was his opportunity. One day in
1968, two teenage girls were hitch ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This cult consisted of brain washing, hallucinogenic drugs, and worshiping Manson. They trusted him
completely and did anything and everything that he said (Henderson). The Manson family soon
moved into Dennis Wilson s home. For a time, it was only girls who lived in the home but Manson
was soon introduced. Now, Manson had already spent 12 years of his life in prison (Jolly). His
offenses ranged from pimping and the theft of government checks to grand theft auto and rape
(Henderson). During the time that Dennis and Charlie started talking and hanging out more during his
stay at the Wilson home. They soon found out that both of them had a passion for music. Once Wilson
and Manson started discussing about their music abilities, they started writing music together. Dennis
once said, I told them [the girls] about our involvement with the Maharishi and they told me they too
had a guru, a guy named Charlie who d recently come out of jail after 12 years. He drifted into crime,
but when I met him, I found he had great musical ideas. We are writing together now. He s dumb, in
some ways, but I accept his approach and have learnt from him (Jolly). After some collaboration and
some song writing, Wilson then put Manson in contact with a man named Terry Melcher

Representation Of Male Chicano Identity In Zoot Suit
Explore the representation of male Chicano identity as seen in Zoot Suit.
Zoot Suit, (1981) is an adaptation to film of the Broadway show by Chicano writer/director Luis
Valdez, and the film helped cement Valdez place as one of, if not the most important figureheads
within Chicano film. The picture depicts whilst also questioning media documentation of the real life
Sleepy Lagoon trial of young male Mexican Americans born out of the Zoot Suit riots in 1942. This
seminal period of Mexican American history is often overlooked and it is a deliberate choice by
Valdez as he opts to socially comment on the injustice faced at the time when Chicano culture was in
its beginnings, symbolised by the rebellious fashion statement ... Show more content on

Chicano men are presented as dominant, and with an overwhelming desire to be accepted, to fit in
(signified with the Anglo origins within the zoot suit.) Yet simultaneously the Chicanos are presented
as trying to forge their own identity and make their own mark within society. They are presented as
brothers, fathers and friends, the fact they were acquitted of their supposed crimes proves the type of
people these Chicano men were young, and trying to find their place in a society which rejects them
for being themselves cultural identity is a matter of becoming as well as being. It belongs to the future
as much to the past. Hall (1989:

This is done to prevent other individuals, who may be able to see the user s computer screen, from
viewing the password as plain text. In order to insure the correct amount of keystrokes by the user, the
star or dot remains on the screen. However, the text is not displayed for the world to see. Hidden input
controls are extremely useful when performing data entry tasks with a database driven web
application. Often, the forms used to edit data are in reference to an entry within the database that has
an integer primary key. This key is usually arbitrary integer that increments automatically, provides
indexing, and has absolutely no meaning to the user. When the user selects to update the data, it is
important that the systems knows what ID is being updated. However, there is no reason to display
this ID to the user. In order to submit the ID of the edited database record along with the modified
form fields, the ID can be assigned to a hidden input control. Data integrity with input controls is
achieved both by the nature of the controls themselves and basic script validation techniques. As far as
scripting is concerned, each data field can be easily verified upon submit before sending the data to
the server. For the types of input controls chosen, selecting inappropriate input controls can result in
data integrity issues. A text input control is rather straight forward. It is also the easiest field to

Financial Bubbles
Financial bubbles occur within the United States economy, and trends in investments cause rising and
falling within the economy. In the early to mid 2000s, the housing market took center stage for Wall
Street investments. According to the podcast, Wall Street investors wanted increases in investment
returns, and the housing market became the prime source of these new, bigger returns. A chain of
command started as banks decided to indirectly cash in on these mortgage loans. As people defaulted
on loans due to rising interest rates, this very large contribution of the economy collapsed, and a
recession of the late 2000s caused people to lose their jobs. This American Life gives a detailed
account of the recession of the late 2000s brought on by the housing market, and it suggests how new
trends in economic investing can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Mike Patton s article in Forbes, he cites the dethroning of cash, the falling of the global
economy making US stocks more attractive, and the rising of intangible assets . (Patton, The Coming
Financial Bubble) Because the United States economy still reigns strong compared to other nations,
stocks look attractive to investors looking for investments with substantial returns with relatively low
risk. Patton also cites the lack of better alternatives for investments, which I also agree with. Bond
investments have less appeal because of falling interest rates, globally, and within the US, leading the
way for stock market investments to become the next bubble. After the recent ending of the house
market bubble, stocks are starting to look more and more attractive to investors, and as new industries,
such as social media, technology, and new sustainable energy, are rising and continue to attract
investors, a new bubble will occur. This could have dire consequences, as the stock market is
extremely important to the strength of the American

Dualism And Dualistic Interactionism
Regarding the body and mind problem, there seems to be an endless discussion between the
materialists and the dualists. One criticize that most materialists raise against dualists is that dualists
fail to give a reasonable explanation towards how the physical and non physical substance interact.
From a Dualist perspective, the human person (or the human mind) is a non physical substance, while
the human organism (or the human body), on the other hand is a physical substance. Thus, the human
person and the human organism are not one and the same thing. One specific kind of the dualists, the
interactionists try to explain how the two substances interact by proposing that there s a two way
causal connection between the human mind and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequently, there s no need to introduce a mental event in order to solve the mind and body
problem, and the dualistic interactionism is debatable. Second, materialists argue that from everyday
experiences, the systematic coincidence is rare. Thus, if there s a systematic wide spreading multi
causing coincidence, dualists need to explain that. Yet, dualists can t give an explanation about that.
Therefore, the dualistic interactionism is problematic.
Regarding those claim, the dualists will give some replies. With respect to materialists first
explanation, I think the dualists can argue that the materialists premise every physical event P has a
physical cause P* is debatable. The dualists can ask question like how about the events that happened
before the Big Bang? Is there anything physical that causes the Big Bang? They can argue how about
some biological events and some more complex emotions, for example my sudden desire to eat
donuts? However, I believe regarding those questions, the materialists can easily come up with some
replies. In the case of Big Bang, the Materialists can suggest that before the big bang, there is nothing .
There s no time, and accordingly no so called casual relationship, regardless it is a physical one or non
physical one. Therefore, it would be invalid to consider the period before big bang in this argument.
With regards to the second questions, the materialists can reply that

Symptoms And Treatment Of Legionnaires
Introduction
Legionnaires disease is an important public health problem that can cause substantial morbidity and
mortality.1 This bacterial infection is caused primarily by the gram negative bacteria, Legionella
pneumophila, found in freshwater environments throughout the world.2, 3
Legionnaires disease was initially described in 1976, after a major respiratory outbreak among
attendees of an American Legion convention.4 L. pneumophila causes a severe inflammatory
pneumonia that primarily affects susceptible patients as a result of advanced age, underlying
debilitating conditions or immunosuppression.5 Environmental risk factors such as cooling towers or

The recent outbreak in the city of New York has emphasized the need to recognize Legionnaires
disease as a common community and hospital acquired pneumonia. Health care workers should have a
high clinical suspicion of L. pneumophila in any patient with unexplained pneumonia and risk factors
for Legionnaire s disease. Routine testing has been discouraged for all outpatients with community
acquired pneumonia and further testing should be assessed on a case by case basis. This review
summarizes the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and management of Legionnaires disease. A
better understanding of the risks associated with Legionnaires disease would allow state and local
entities to better target preventive measures and improve clinician awareness.
Epidemiology
Almost 40 years ago, Legionella pneumophila was initially recognized as the cause of a major
respiratory outbreak among attendees of an American Legion convention at a hotel in Philadelphia.4

Unemployment Rate Dbq Research Paper
Unemployment rate, one of the biggest macroeconomic indicators. Unemployment rate controls the
rate of the economy, or GDP. If unemployment rate drops from 9.1% to under 5%, the entire economy
would benefit. The job market would increase, total products produced would increase, and the overall
standard of living would also increase. Employment is a key economic factor that affects all things
economic. If unemployment rate lowered, that means that the job market would increase. An increase
in the job market would vastly increase the overall GDP of an economy (Doc 1). With the economy
handing out pink slips and firing employees, a boost in employment would lead to an economic
expansion (Doc 3). An economic expansion would go so far as to slow ... Show more content on

If there is a farm with 100 workers vs a farm with 1 million works, the bigger farm will produce the
most crop, excluding technologic factors. Imagine that employees are seeds, and the more seeds you
have the more corn you can grow (Doc 1). Cornucopias, the economy, need this corn to flourish, and
without the corn they would need to fire workers to compensate (Doc 3). This would cause our
economy to sink lower into debt and maybe even hit the bottom of the ocean (Doc 2). If the
unemployment rate lowers and more workers are in the factory, more products would be generated,
boosting the overall economy. Working off the last paragraph, less unemployment leads to a higher
overall production of products, leading to a higher GDP. A higher GDP leads to a higher standard of
living. Basically if everyone in an economy was working and being productive, the economy would
start to flourish (Doc 2). But due to an increase in firings and unemployment, the cornucopia of the
economy is struggling (Doc 3). The job market is suffering and business struggle to find workers (Doc

Summary Of Powhatan Genocide
Disease and Genocide
All through American history, diverse sorts of warfare from different landmasses have settled in this
country. By the seventeenth century, the measure of English pioneers had expanded hugely, while the
Indian pilgrims who were Indian boss, Powhatan, had diminished from 14,000 to 600. More than 95
percent of Powhatan s pioneers was eliminated because of the diminishing in populace of the Indian
pilgrims. The creator of this section clarifies how, because of the differing qualities, the measure of
tribes and pioneers that got away and were annihilated was high and it had a negative effect on them.
Stannard contends that Columbus brought the Europeans who were gone for decimating the American
locals through a genocide battles. The Spanish officers used to watch the now vanquished area with
their savage prepared executioner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Taking all things together, 352 Indians were killed in this slaughter, during a period when 440 towns
were as a rule completely obliterated by government troops, when just about 10,000 unarmed
individuals were being murdered or made to vanish yearly, and when more than 1,000,000 of
Guatemala s more or less 4,000,000 locals were being uprooted by the purposeful smoldering and
squandering of their familial grounds. Amid such scenes of mass butchery, a few kids escape; just
their guardians and grandparents are executed. That is the reason it was accounted for in Guatemala in
1985 that 116,000 vagrants had been organized by the legal branch statistics all through the nation, the
larger part of them in the Indian townships of the western and focal good countries. The creator
likewise talks about the effect of the pequot war.The activities of the Pilgrims and Puritans toward
Indians, particularly, are seen as constitutive and meaningful of a resulting frontier and U.S. national

Sasmalcountry In Rwanda Essay
Rwanda sasmallcountry in Africa with an increating movement in agriculture,
The people of Rwanda first gained their independence from Belgium on the first of July in 1962 (UN,

most highly populated areas in their region, but as the number of people increases, so does the tension
between ethnicities.
About 85 percent of its population is Hutu. The rest of the population is Tutsi, along with a small
number of Twa, a Pygmy group who were the original inhabitants of Rwanda. While they were part of
German East Africa from 1894 to 1918, Rwanda came under the League of Nations mandate of
Belgium after, along with neighboring Burundi, Rwanda s colonial period, during which the ruling

The Rise Of Chin China
THE RISE OF CHINA IN INTERNATIONAL RELATION THEORIES INTRODUCTION It is not
until today that we see China as a rising power, so powerful that could shake the core of global
system. Recent resilient economic growth and other development indexes have been widely quoted in
thousands of political writings as the prominent evidence alarming about upcoming systemic changes .
In fact, while Europe was still in the shadow of Dark Ages, China was inventing compass, gunpowder,
paper and printing technology. While Penicillin was discovered in 1897 by Ernest Duchesne and later
Alexander Fleming, China has been using soybean mold as antibiotic measure for already two
thousand years. This is explicitly to say that the preeminence Chinese power is not a modern issue
emerged from Mao to Xi period, from Long March iconic leaders to modern ambitious technocrats.
During colonization period, the West has been constantly disregarding the strength of China and this
only changed dramatically after 1976 when Mao death triggered a new period filling with economic
successes. With very recent understanding of China as an important actor capable of upsetting the
status quo of global system, realists are assuming potential war between China and the US, even an all
out nuclear escalation is possible and containing China is the only strategy. The miraculous growth of
Chinese economy, technological and industrial wealth, according to them, pose a great threat to
traditional order.

Cuban Relations During The Cuban Revolution
US Cuban relations have not been the friendliest since the Cuban Revolution in 1959. Only recently
during President Barack Obama s second term in office did the US really try to resolve the Cuban
issue and only then did it become such a priority. US Cuban relations have always been a mixed bag
of plenty of good and evil deeds. The US needs all the allies it can get and it needs to refocus in Latin
America. Cuba is no real challenge to American power but Cuba represents a sore spot for American
foreign policy. The US must work as one with Cuba in order to normalize relations with Cuba and
bring Cubans into the 21st century. There are plenty of Cuban Americans who want desperately to see
family and friends on the island and the US must work together with Cuba to achieve these goals.
Cuba has been a hot topic of debate ever since the Cuban Revolution and it continues to be one which
is why there is no better time to study Cuba. Cuba has a long cultural history which makes it
interesting to study and now that the US is finally working with the Cuban government on
normalizing relations, more scholars will be traveling to Cuba. More information about Cuba and the
Cuban culture will become available as the US moves to being better neighbors. This is important for
researchers and others to gain new insights on Cuba which have not been available for the past fifty to
sixty years. The renewed Cuban American relations and the so called, Cuban Thaw , is the right
approach by President

The Effects And Effects Of British Imperialism In India
For approximately 200 years, Great Britain had ruled over the Indian subcontinent. After Robert Clive
s forces won the Battle of Plassey, the East India Company had gained some power in 1757 (Ray).
Before the period of British rule known as the Raj, India s economy had been stable for some
centuries. The Company had soon taken advantage of the strong framework in place, monopolizing
industry and taking political control as well. India s already large and growing population provided
cheap labor for a subsistence economy installed within the nation that did not encourage industrial
development. Because everything could be imported so cheaply from India without duty, India s
existing industries had no protection from British competition ... Show more content on

The poverty that has infected the region is quite reminiscent of 40 famines under British rule, leading
to the deaths of 59 million Indians (RT International).
Further evidence shows that more British involvement over the course of two centuries made nearly
all aspects of Indian society weaker overall. Areas that experienced direct British rule have
significantly lower levels of access to education, roads, and healthcare in the postcolonial period,
thereby demonstrating that the quality of governance during Britain s imperial rule in India had a
significant effect on the country after becoming an independent nation in 1947 (Fisher). Regarding
industry, the absence of Britain ever imperializing within India would affect all facets of society
within the subcontinent. It is widely known that the construction of railroads in British controlled
India occurred rapidly. Introduced by Britain in 1871, railroads were strategically placed to solely
allow for British economic prosperity within the region. However, without Great Britain involved,
railroads would be introduced later in the 20th century, the point in time at which railroads were a
main source of transportation throughout the world

  • 2. Two Sides Now Autonomy In the House episode, Both Sides Now, the normative principle of autonomy is explored and seriously called into question between House and Cuddy. When understanding the normative principle of autonomy is to acknowledging a person s freedom over his or her actions or physical body. House goes to great lengths to hurt Cuddy personally, and as an employee. In this episode Dr. House feels that Cuddy is lying to him about either last night or that day about something. House does everything possible to make Cuddy mad. But instead of breaking Cuddy s autonomy to find out the lie it is House that is the one that ends up losing his autonomy. Finally, she realizes that they could never have a personal relationship, and House is confused since he had told her he needed her. But, everything House said to her that day, and the night before calling her baby a bastard. She knew that she had enough from House. By Cuddy getting her autonomy back she was able to protect herself from House hurting her or her child. Suddenly House replays the night before with the things that were said between them and her leaving, the other was her staying to help. As for the lipstick House pulls it out of his pocket, and notices that it was the bottle of Vicodin. Next, House replays back the night with her and alone, he realizes that they had not slept together. House remembers that the lipstick was actually him twirling the bottle of Vicodin and popping the pills. With everything that had happened House realized that he was not okay and that he lost his autonomy. Cuddy knew that she could not be the one to help him, and took House to Wilson to get ... • 3. Russell Wilson Research Paper Jaxon King Mr. Bergmann Senior English P1 1 September 2015 Russell Wilson Can Russell Wilson be the best NFL quarterback within his first three years? Without a doubt Russell Wilson has proved he is better then most hall of fame quarterbacks. By using his statistics, his win loss record, and his super bowl appearances it will show why Russell Wilson is the best quarterback ever. Being a quarterback in your first three years is hard to be compared to some of the hall of famers. Although, hall of famers like Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, and Johnny Unitas had great careers, Russell Wilson is the best quarterback in his first three years. Russel Wilson s statistics were more superior then some of the greatest quarterbacks in history. Russell Wilson ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Joe Montana had a record of twenty one wins, and twenty seven losses. Terry Bradshaw had a record of twenty two wins twenty six losses. Johnny Unitas had a record of twenty one wins, and fifteen losses. Johnny Unitas played when a regular season consisted of twelve games. Do not let that fool you because if you were to take the percentage of all those records you will clearly see Russell Wilson has the best record. Russell Wilson won a total of thirty six out of forty eight games. His percentage was he won seventy five percent of his games. Joe Montana won forty three percent of his games. Terry Bradshaw won a total of forty five percent of his games. With Johnny Unitas only playing thirty six games and only winning twenty one of those games. He only won fifty eight percent of his games. The final way to prove he is the greatest quarterback to me is his appearances to the super bowl. Russell Wilson has played a total of three full seasons. In those seasons Russell Wilson has made a total of two back to back appearances to the super bowl. Joe Montana has appeared in only one super bowl in his first three years. Terry Bradshaw unfortunately did not appear in any super bowls for his first three years. Johnny Unitas like Joe Montana only appeared in one super bowl in three years. Russell Wilson won one out of two super bowls he appeared in. Russell Wilson was also the youngest ... Barron, MHA Ethical Health Care Issues Paper Health care staff governed to perform their professional duties based on the practice acts from the professional licensing boards under the statutes of the states. The professional duties include the balance between competency in skills, and application of ethics that will help promote the provision of the quality of care to the public (Harris, 2008). One ethical health care issue is the refusal of a patient for treatment, such as receiving blood transfusion because of his or her religious beliefs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The validity of the informed consent should consist of three factors. First, the patient is competent to give an informed consent by verbalizing or acknowledging understanding of the nature of the treatment plans. Second, the patient should give consent willfully without an undue influence or threat from other individuals. Third, the patient should receive full disclosure, including the risks, and benefits of the treatment plans from his or her physician (McInroy, 2005). The ethical principles of beneficence, and nonmaleficence from a patient who is refusing blood transfusion believed that refusal of this treatment would honor the benefits over harm. Based on the values practiced among the Jehovah s Witness members, the harm resulting from receiving the blood transfusion will cause a dismissal in achieving an eternal salvation. Nevertheless, the harm resulting from refusing the blood transfusion will create less harm, which is the end of one s mortal life on earth. The belief of the Jehovah s Witness members pertains to a rational decision, which the eternal salvation preferred substantially compared with the additional years of temporary life on earth (Macklin, 2003). The ethical principle of justice from a patient pertains to a fair, and equal provision of respect regardless of the patient s cultural or religious beliefs. However, the ... Elizabeth Bishop illustrates childhood as an innocent and cherished entity. External factors, such as death and loss, jeopardize the fragility, or naiveté, of childhood. Bishop s poetry highlights the brevity of life through the reappearing subject of mortality and loss. The reoccurring themes of childhood, grief, and transience are prevalent within the poems First Death in Nova Scotia, Sestina, and In the Waiting Room. In Sestina, Bishop describes the sorrowful tale of a grandmother and child suffering through a painful loss. Although the grandmother attempts to remain joyful and resilient to shelter the child, the woman s tears uncover her anguish. Noticing the grandmother s tears, the child paints a picture for her in order to make her feel happier and proud. With its storybook tone, Sestina relays wondering and otherworldly details brought on by the child s imagination (Paul). Towards the end of the poem, the buttons become little moons and fall down like tears and into the flower bed within the child s painting (Axelrod). The child utilizes their creativity to initiate other fanciful images. Of course, this goes unnoticed by the grandmother as these fairy tale occurrences transpired from the child s own mind and creativity. The inclusion of playful and innocent representations in Sestina bolsters the theme of youth and the righteousness that accompanies it. Additionally, the setting of the poem maintains a crucial element to relay the theme of childhood to the reader. According to Jay Paul, Bishop arranged the poem so that it occurs during a turning point a liminal moment. Also, objects placed in the setting, such as the stove, are reminiscent of fairy tales ... • 6. The Presidential Election Of 1984 The United States presidential election of 1984 was the 50th quadrennial presidential election. It was held on Tuesday, November 6, 1984. The presidential race was between the incumbent Republican candidate, President Ronald Reagan, and former Vice President Democratic candidate, Walter Mondale. Reagan was helped in the election by a strong economic recovery from the deep recession of 1981 1982. Reagan carried 49 of the 50 states, becoming only the second presidential candidate to do so after Richard Nixon s victory in the 1972 presidential election. Mondale s only electoral votes came from the District of Columbia, which has always been considered a Democratic guarantee, and his home state of Minnesota which he won by a mere 3761 votes, meaning Reagan came within 3800 votes of winning all fifty states. Reagan s 525 electoral votes (out of 538) is the highest total ever received by a presidential candidate. Mondale s 13 electoral votes is also the 2nd fewest ever received by a second place candidate, second only to lf Landon s 8 in 1936. In the national popular vote, Reagan received 58.8% to Mondale s 40.6% (2016, 270towin.com) For a long period, candidates running for President of the United States often have what s called a campaign strategy to help attract voters attention. • 9. General Aggression Model Of Human Aggression Part 1. Violence Mechanism of GAM General Aggression Model (GAM) represents a theoretical basis for social cognitive integrated model of human aggression, and aims at the interpretation of the connection between the motivation of aggression, and the following aggressive behavior, aggressive effect (i.e., physiological stimulation), aggressive cognition, (i.e., thoughts), reduced pro social behavior, and reduced empathy (i.e., emotional facets) (Anderson and Bushman, 2001; Barlett and Anderson 2013). As a process model, GAM can be divided into two explanatory mechanisms; a) proximate and distal GAM (Anderson Carnagey, 2004) or b) proximate GAM as single episode GAM and multiple episode GAM (see. Anderson Bushman, 2001) as (long term) effects of repetitive violence viewing (Barlett Anderson, 2013). In the single episode model, GAM describes a continuous cycle of interaction between personal/biological and situational/violent media exposure variables/modifiers; situational input variables influence aggressive behavior through their impact on the person s present internal state (e.g. personality/hostility traits, emotions or attitudes), represented by cognitive, affective and arousal variables. The present internal state of a person in GAM is the result of the interaction among between affect, arousal, and cognition (i.e., the activation/priming of one of them leads to the activation of other two) (Anderson and Dill, 2001). He predicted that the Spanish were back at Cavite, protecting the capital, instead of holding down the provincial port at Subic. This decision was risky for Dewey. With this strategic point effectively occupied, no hostile commander in chief would think of passing it. She has a set of six girls, her crème de la crème , who are called the Brodie set. One of the things that characterizes this novel is the way time is used. Instead of telling the story in a chronological order the author writes in a non sequential way, having paid a lot of attention to the order in which the events are told. Diversity In The Entertainment Industry In a study of 414 films and television series, only 33 percent of all characters were women, and only 28 percent were of racial minority status (Associated Press). Casting diversely in entertainment has been an issue for years and has recently spawned many controversies such as the 2016 Oscar Controversy where an outrage occurred due to a lack of minority Oscar winners. Many cultures and races fell underrepresented and cast aside by film and television. The entertainment industry should cast more diverse actors because it increases viewership, provides a broader perspective, and creates a more realistic setting. I feel as though many students rush to complete the readings quickly without an understanding of the words that are being read. I have begun to realize that the students are familiar with testing for the rate of fluency so often that I need to address other reasons for reading and the strategies that should be implemented before they begin reading the text. While I understand the importance of reading with automaticity and the skill development involved with addressing punctuation, reading with expression and meaning should also be a focus of reading development. During my research, I realized the topic of prosody needs to be clearly defined, although its importance to reading comprehension is unclear. I have also come to the realization that the methods I am implementing within the classroom are consistent with current literacy research. This research includes both traditional and new literacy methods. Most literacy educators consider fluency to be a critical component of reading development. Reading with fluency is important because it provides a bridge between word recognition and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rio de Janeiro is a perculiar place in Brazil that is prime for research of these problems due to the availability of quality data, the influence of the government on the behavior and customs of their citizens, and the importance of the city when it comes to drug trafficking and the policies against it. They attempted to consolidate the states control over the communities and to reestablish peaceful involvement in these communities thus allowing the people to exercise their full citizenship. The main problem lied with the police, with the growing violence, money and influence the drug trade had on the daily lives of all Brazilians, this led to corruption among many of the officers that swore to protect. Since the police carry out activities that the government does not want openly acknowledged, the police often turn to criminal activity as ways of funding and carrying out their operations. Illegality is allowed and tolerated, even encouraged, if it is in the name of fighting subversion. But once the subversive threat is eliminated, the networks that tie police to illegal activities, and the practice of turning a blind eye to official illegality and corruption, remain in place (Pengalese, 131, 2008). Leading to a never ending cycle of corruption that is occurring throughout. Not all police officers are corrupt though, but it has been shown that the policies and high level of violence from the police are ineffective ways of preventing drug trafficking and reducing crime. This was the shining moment of America. Freedom was theirs, and this is what they have been wanting since the pilgrims arrived almost two centuries before. They were now going to take on an even greater task then fighting the British: establishing a system of government that would be fair and that would be accepted throughout all of America. They would now have to stick together too see if these new ideas would work (Parker 3). After the American Revolution, the government was deep in debt. The Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton, proposed a bill that would stop the national debt from growing or even reduce it. This bill, which was approved by both houses in the winter session of Congress in 1791, put an excise tax on all spiritus fermenti, or whiskey (Pike 1). The tax was an ad valorem tax that added twenty five percent to the value of whiskey. Needless to say, this was not well accepted and the peoples opposition to it would become one of the first tests of power the new government would have to face. The thing about this tax is that the amount that had to be paid varied with how much was being produced. Large producers would only have to pay an annual tax of about six cents per gallon because they produced so much. This price could also be reduced if they created the whiskey in even larger quantities. On the other hand, there were also the small producers, that were mostly farmers, who made whiskey because grain was very hard to transport across the mountains, and making the grain into whiskey was much easier to carry across the mountains and much more profitable. The initial process that brought this powerful group forward was the idea of Dr.Ethyl Percy. Dr. Percy is an important figure for retired teachers in the 1940 s (International Directory of Company Histories, 2009). Dr. Percy, is reflected as being the main female in history that led a high school platform as principle (International Directory of Company Histories, 2009). As retirement came forward, Dr. Percy had an interest in the well being of colleagues that retired as she, and had little means to live on. With this in mind, Dr.Percy initialized the National Retired Teachers Association beginning in 1947(International Directory of Company Histories, 2009). This tremendous woman added a living structure for the retired teachers and provided a nursing home, which she alone began. Dr. Percy joined forces with a gentleman named Leonard Davis, in the event that health insurance was in need to help pay for the facility. The Continental Casualty Company, which Mr. Davis was associated with, began enrolling these retired teachers in need and opened up the first policy for them in 1956(International Directory of Company Histories, 2009). The proceeds were great as policies distributed through the mail, and monetary proceeds began to add up very quickly. Often, the forms used to edit data are in reference to an entry within the database that has an integer primary key. This key is usually arbitrary integer that increments automatically, provides indexing, and has absolutely no meaning to the user. When the user selects to update the data, it is important that the systems knows what ID is being updated. However, there is no reason to display this ID to the user. In order to submit the ID of the edited database record along with the modified form fields, the ID can be assigned to a hidden input control. One criticize that most materialists raise against dualists is that dualists fail to give a reasonable explanation towards how the physical and non physical substance interact. From a Dualist perspective, the human person (or the human mind) is a non physical substance, while the human organism (or the human body), on the other hand is a physical substance. Thus, the human person and the human organism are not one and the same thing. Yet, dualists can t give an explanation about that. Therefore, the dualistic interactionism is problematic. Regarding those claim, the dualists will give some replies. With respect to materialists first explanation, I think the dualists can argue that the materialists premise every physical event P has a physical cause P* is debatable. They can argue how about some biological events and some more complex emotions, for example my sudden desire to eat donuts? However, I believe regarding those questions, the materialists can easily come up with some replies. In the case of Big Bang, the Materialists can suggest that before the big bang, there is nothing .
