AO1: Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and
critical understanding.

elements, an idea you had following a visit to an exhibition, etc).
•You must critically analyse the your work (how good is it, how can it be improved)
AO4: Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and
other elements.
Post the best 4 images after editing with Photoshop.

László Moholy-Nagy, born in 1895 in Borsód, Austria-Hungary, believed in the potential of art as a vehicle for social transformation,
working hand in hand with technology for the betterment of humanity. He is a multifaceted artist, educator, and prolific writer. He
experimented across mediums, moving fluidly between the fine and applied arts, pursuing his quest to illuminate the interrelatedness of
life, art, and technology.
In these photos I see buildings/architecture where line has been incorporated throughout. These photos make me feel quite relaxed as the
majority of the lines are symmetrical and following a pattern. I think the artist is trying to communicate how powerful lines can be through
the thoughts of them being stable and its like an expression of how it hold you up. These images communicate this message mostly through
the first and second image which have the strongest message. The emotions represented are tranquil and happy yet a feeling of anxiety. I
would like to know the reasons behind choosing images with a strong image/ feeling of power. I like how they are black and white so you
can focus on the lines and there meanings. I dislike how the second one is not that clear in the background. I think it has been achieved by
finding buildings with the shape surrounding it.
I edited my photos on Photoshop
to create a more creative side to
the theme of line. Most of these
photos were taken in either a
store or outside to show the
different types of line you can find
all around you. I like how the
reflection is so strong on the first
image to show throughout the
other walls surrounding.
I like to blur out the background
of the photos so the main focus is
on the lines.
I dislike the second image as even
though it represents line I don’t
think it does it as well as the other
pictures. I would improve some of
the angles of how I took my
photos to show lines from the
start to end to show the
purpose/message behind of them.
If I were to do it again I would go
outside and take photos of line
because the majority of it is inside
and it could show a significant
difference between the format of
lines.

László Moholy-Nagy, born in 1895 in Borsód, Austria-Hungary, believed in the potential of art as a vehicle for social transformation, working hand in hand with technology for the betterment of humanity. He is a multifaceted artist, educator, and prolific writer. He experimented across mediums, moving fluidly between the fine and applied arts, pursuing his quest to illuminate the interrelatedness of life, art, and technology. In these photos I see buildings/architecture where line has been incorporated throughout. These photos make me feel quite relaxed as the majority of the lines are symmetrical and following a pattern. I think the artist is trying to communicate how powerful lines can be through the thoughts of them being stable and its like an expression of how it hold you up. These images communicate this message mostly through the first and second image which have the strongest message. The emotions represented are tranquil and happy yet a feeling of anxiety. I would like to know the reasons behind choosing images with a strong image/ feeling of power. I like how they are black and white so you can focus on the lines and there meanings. I dislike how the second one is not that clear in the background. I think it has been achieved by finding buildings with the shape surrounding it.

  • 6. I edited my photos on Photoshop to create a more creative side to the theme of line. Most of these photos were taken in either a store or outside to show the different types of line you can find all around you. I like how the reflection is so strong on the first image to show throughout the other walls surrounding. I like to blur out the background of the photos so the main focus is on the lines. I dislike the second image as even though it represents line I don’t think it does it as well as the other pictures. I would improve some of the angles of how I took my photos to show lines from the start to end to show the purpose/message behind of them. If I were to do it again I would go outside and take photos of line because the majority of it is inside and it could show a significant difference between the format of lines.
