Lily Allen struggled to get signed to a record label initially due to her musical style. She created her own Myspace page and posted her music, which convinced her label Regal Recordings to give her more creative control over her debut album. For her second album, Allen took a risk by changing her image from a retro dress and trainer wearing girl to an indie pop artist to differentiate herself from other artists who had adopted a similar style. In addition to her music brand, Allen expanded into other areas like fashion with her "Lily Loves" line, working with New Look, hosting a chat show on BBC3, and developing games.
