1. Presentation
A manager has to give various presentation in an
organization - usually given to an individual or group
of people who can be colleagues, board members,
customers or vendors - in order to explain the
broader concept of his planning , product /service or
philosophy and portray his idea in meaningful way
though power point slides - using pictures, text,
graphs audios and videos - helping audience to
understand effectively.
The presentation helps in saving the time of
manager and resource of the company. He can
communicate and discuss on the points mentioned
in his presentation in-person and solve the queries
real time. Also, he can take valuable points as
feedbacks which can come while handling
objections. To improve his planning. Hence,
Presentation helps in achieving goal of
organization.
Various type of presentation are – product
demonstration, sales presentation, concept
explanation, One to one presentation, Group
presentation etc.

2. Client Meetings
A manager meets his client on day to day
basis. The client approaches the manager
when he or she wants to solve problem,
doubts, queries, objections, negotiation
which were generally not attended well by
his subordinates or juniors.
A client can be a end customer, service
provider, or third party entity which has
outsourced its project to the manager’s
company. Meeting clients in-person helps
in strengthening this bond and smoothens
the business transaction of a company.
Manager is generally occupied mostly in
these type of meeting and hence he takes
decision for company to ensure paramount
service offerings to thier esteemed clients.

3. Negotiation
A manager is a skilled professional
who does the negotiation on behalf
of the company from the intended
party to ensure the cost
effectiveness and quality of
resources.
Negotiation helps in securing the
interest of company in terms of
profit, revenue, expenditure and
helping the organization grow in
business.
A good Manager is a good
negotiator . and hence he is
involved in various type of
negotiation from clients, customers,
vendors keeping the philosophy of
company intact so as to utilize the

4. Board meetings
A manager has to attend board
meetings where his seniors, directors,
top management members are
present. The manager has to seek the
decision from his management for
particular problem which he is facing or
approval on the project on he is
working. In board meetings, the
manager can put his views before the
management and take the advice from
his seniors.
Board meeting generally happens
weekly or fortnight in most of the
organization. Some organization
conduct this monthly or quarterly. In
board meetings, manager has to
submit reports, sets targets,
performance analysis for the business
cycle.

5. Training associates
Training is a continuous process where
manager trains his associates,
subordinates, colleagues the systems and
process, principles, work methodology of
the business.
He mentors his team and help them
achieve their goal as well as organization's
goal & objectives by training them. Such
training happens in-person through
seminars or class room training sessions or
online through webinars or video
conferencing for his offshore team .
Manager helps his associates in solving the
problem, does brainstorming sessions,
discussions, thereby empowering his team
members. Manager usually conduct such
training programme every week so as to
ensure the productivity in the organization

6. Problem solving / Helping colleagues
In business environment, Various routine
problems occur as well as certain situations or
circumstances come where lower level staff
wants the help or support or a decision from the
middle level management.
To overcome these issues, managers come
forward and extend their support and
knowledge expertise to their juniors in order to
solve the problem and helping the
organization's smooth execution of the
business process.
A Manager is an expert who he knows in and
out of the business process and his most time
is utilized in helping his team. This helps in
overall development of organization in
achieving growth in business transaction as
well as service point of view and it could only

7. Outdoor meeting
Successful managers spend about 50%
of their time in meetings. Out of this,
20% meeting happens outdoor, where a
manager has to meet his prospective or
existing client outdoor. This could be a
restaurant or a hotel, or at client’s office
or mutually decided venue.
Outdoor meetings help in knowing the
client and his requirement/needs for the
business. Managers in outdoor
meeting seeks the extended
relationship which helps the company in
achieving the objective and goals.
Client also feels delighted when a
manager meets them outdoor. This
overall simplifies the job of
management and hence such meetings

8. Decision Making
The managers are hired to make decision in
an organization. The decision are both
strategic as well as administrative. The
manager’s decision making ability suffices
the role of management and by this entire
organization's hierarchy operates.
Decisions are crucial and right decisions
build the organization. All conditional and
situational analysis is carried by managers
and by the advice of management, a
manager takes the decision for the execution
of a job function.
At manager’s level, he helps in taking quick
decision on behalf of company so that the
delay in business operation should not
happen and it helps in preventing loss and
delays. Thus the career & growth of
managers is based on taking right decision
at right time and at right place.

9. Interoffice/ Interdepartmental communication
Communication is lifeline of business. The
communication in organization happens
both verbally and written. The various
departments, customer bases, vendors,
clients and other entities are linked and are
involved in communication with Manager of
an organization.
This enables fast operation and various
aligned process takes places only after the
green signal given by the manager. The
manager has to report to his seniors and
take their valuable feedback or decision,
which he then passes to his subordinate or
immediate level.
About 30% of working time of a manager is
involved in both verbal and written
communication for the organization. Hence
a manager is always expected to be a good

10. Team Handling/ Team Leader
A manager is a team leader and mentor to his
team. He directs and coordinates with his team so
that the trajectory of business should be in place.
A manager does multitasking and lead his team
for the growth of the organization.
By being a team leader, he not only becomes the
part of team also, he devotes most of his time in
team handling and team management. He
supervise the overall job functions of his team and
does the performance appraisal. He acts as
mentor and motivator to his team. He boosts the
morale of employees by conducting various
interdepartmental competition, events and
appreciating the team’s performance.
A good team is backbone of a successful
manager and hence it is the job of manager to
handle his team in a way where the productivity of
organization is assured. So managers are
