1. Explain the classification of ICs.
2. Explain the characteristics of an ideal OP-AMP and practical OP-AMP (All Definitions).

Unit II: OP-AMP Applications:
1. Briefly discuss the following applications of OP-AMP:
(i) Adder(Summing Amplifier)
(ii) Subtractor
(iii)Adder/ Subtractor
(iv) Voltage Follower
2. Describe the instrumentation amplifier with a neat sketch.
3. Explain the V to I and I to V converters.
4. Explain about sample and sold circuits.
5. Explain the operation and hence derive the expressions for output voltage of (i) Integrator (ii)
Differentiator using OP-AMPs.
6. Explain the following OP-AMP circuits:
(i) Comparators
(ii) Schmitt Trigger
(iii) Astable Multivibrators (Square Wave Generator)
(iv) Monostable Multivibrators (Pulse Generator)
7. Write short notes on 78XX and 79XX series fixed voltage regulator ICs.
8. List the features of voltage regulator IC 723.
Unit III: Active Filters & Oscillators:
1. What are active filters and passive filters? Compare them.
2. List the advantages and drawbacks of active filters.
3. Explain the operation of the following active filters:
(i) First Order Low Pass Filter
(ii) First Order High Pass Filter
(iii) Band Pass Filters
(iv) Band Reject Filters
(v) All Pass Filters
4. With a neat sketch explain the operation of the following waveform generators using OP-AMPs:
(i) RC Phase Shift Oscillator
(ii) Wien Bridge Oscillator
(iii) Quadrature type Oscillator
(iv) Triangular wave generators
(v) Saw tooth wave generators
Unit IV: Timers & Phase Locked Loops:
1. Draw the functional block diagram of IC 555 Timer and explain.
2. Explain the operation of the following multivibrators using IC 555 Timer:
(i) AMV (ii) MMV
3. Explain the operation of Schmitt trigger circuit using IC 555 Timer.
4. Draw the block diagram of PLL and explain.
5. Draw the block diagram of PLL IC 565 and explain.
6. Define (i) Lock in range, (ii) Capture range (iii) Pull in time of a PLL.
7. Explain the operation of VCO with the help of a block diagram.
