Editor's Notes
To prepare for the future redesign of the library spaces we are at the stage of gathering ideas through consultation with our stakeholders, visits, attending professional learning and participating in professional networks and searching the literature for case studies.
With regard to consultation there was some work done in 2015, then this year we have conducted a survey with students, launched in May in Library and Information Week, continued through surveying one pastoral group per house which is now completed. A number of students also self-nominated to be involved in further discussions.
For staff, in May this year after I attended EduTECH where there was a stream of workshops and presentation about library redesign, I ran a deep dive workshop.
Conversations with individuals and groups have been ongoing and today I will launch an online survey for staff to share their ideas.
We will also gather ideas from a parent sample.
During the process we are aligning ourselves with, of course, the needs of students and staff;
