By 1884, St. Patrick's Training College had an established library. Over the following decades, the library moved to different locations within the college as new buildings were added. It started in the existing college buildings, moved to a new wing in 1887, and then to the old chapel building in 1968. The library continued changing locations, moving to E-Block in 1980 where it remained for several decades. Plans in the 2010s included promises of funding for a new library building, which began construction in 2011 and opened in February 2015.
