2. According to Oxford dictionary, “a library is
a building or room containing collections of
books, periodicals, and sometimes films
and recorded music for use or borrowing by
the public or the members of an institution

3. • A library is a treasure-house of knowledge
• A well-stocked library is an asset to a school, a college or a university
• A library needs a good librarian who should be well-qualified in library
science.
• In recent years internet has revolutionized the concept of library

4. A public library is a library that is accessible by the general public and is
generally funded from public sources, such as taxes. It is operated by
librarians and library paraprofessionals, who are also civil servants

5. Science library is primarily consist of collection of books and material
that support study, works and research in the fields of Medicine,
Psychology, Neural Science, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry,
Geology, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, and Pure and Applied
Mathematics. Science library consist of books related to science
subjects.

6. Digitization refers to all of the steps involved in the process of making
collections of historical and other materials available online.

7. • Digitization makes library’s resources available electronically thereby providing a
wider access to its collections.
• digitization offers a solution for theft of items especially in developing countries
where libraries have no electronic security systems to prevent theft of their
collections.
• It is also a way of preserving aging materials which could have otherwise gone
into extinction.
• It further allows users to search collections rapidly and comprehensively from
anywhere at any time.

8. A digital library is an organized collection of digitized material or it’s
holding in the digital form, which can be accessible by a computer on
the network by using TCP/IP or other protocol.

the cost of technologies is much more less than that of traditional
