Michael Weddington is being recommended for a full-time position by Sarah Allen. I am writing to recommend Michael Weddington for a full-time position with CETL. In Fall
2015, Michael assisted with a project for which I am the lead: the Supplemental Academic
Instruction [SAI] in Writing program-development project. In particular, he collected, on behalf
of the SAI team, 42 course syllabi from instructors of writing-intensive LAC courses. He wrote
and submitted to each instructor the initial request, followed up with them, collected each
instructor’s contact information and the course information for each section in a spreadsheet, and
uploaded all syllabi to a Dropbox account. Every stage, he completed quickly (always ahead of
the deadlines we negotiated) and efficiently, and when our initial plan for the receptacle for the
syllabi collection failed, he quickly worked to find an alternative for us.
Clearly, Michael is well-organized and diligent. Too, the fact that he managed to solicit so many
syllabi from faculty on campus says a lot about his professionalism and approachability. I have
found Michael to be professional, engaging, smart, passionate about his work, and supportive of
others’ efforts on campus. He is, in such ways, a model GA. Any team or office would be lucky
to have him. We certainly were.
