Topic:                 Animals.

Learning Standards:    3.2.2 Able to write with guidance:

                       a. Simple sentences
                       b. Compound sentences

Objectives:            By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:

                       (i)     Write 5 simple and 5 compound sentences .



Cross-curricular elements: Constructivism

Teaching Aids: rhymes chant, pictures of animal.

Steps:

Pre-Writing

   1. Show a rhyme of an animal from the previous lesson.
   2. Guide pupils to talk about the rhyme. Ask questions:
      Eg: What are the words that we learnt yesterday?
          Can you spell the word ‘……..’ ?

While-Writing

   3. Guide pupils to form simple sentence.
      Eg. I like to drink milk.
         I like to eat meat.
   4. Choose pupils randomly and asks them to make simple sentences.
   6. Guide pupils to form compound sentences.
      Eg: I like to drink milk and eat meat.



Post-writing
   5. Individually,pupils write 5 simple and 5 compound sentences .
   6. Pupils present their answers to the class.
