I. Objectives: Having a discussion in the rotation of the Earth, the Grade 4
students are expected to:
a. Describe the rotation of the Earth on its axis.
b. Give the importance of the Earth’s rotation in our daily life.
c. Locate the different places in the globe.

Good morning class!
How are you today?
2. Review
Class share with me what you have
learned so far about the planet Earth.
Would you give some information of our
planet Earth?
Good morning

Were fine teacher!
As far as I can remember,
Earth is the third planet in
the solar system and only
planet can sustain life.
This is the planet where
we live.

3. Motivation
(Teacher presents a globe).
Class, look at what I am holding. Can
you tell me what it is?
What is a globe?
If I will spin the globe and half of the
globe I will light it using the flashlight,
what did you observe?
That is a globe teacher!
Globe is a model of our
planet Earth.
The places are moving
and half of the globe is
light and the other half is
dark.
B. Activity
4. Presentation
Now, our lesson for today is about Rotation
of the Earth
Now, I am going to divide you into
two groups but I want one
representative for each group to
answer.
First Representative: List at least 5
countries having day time which has lighted
by flashlight.
Second Representative: List at least 5
countries having night time which is in the
dark portion of the globe.
I will give you 2 minutes to do that.
Are you ready? Yes teacher.

passed. We will check your work
on the board with your
representative.

Now, did you understand our lesson

. It rotates toward the east
or in a counter clockwise
direction.

I want you to divide among yourselves into
two groups each group must compete to
arrange the given scrabble letters I
presented with questions.
1. It is an imaginary line around which
planet earth spins.
