Curricular statement : Creating knowledge on adjectives 
Learning out comes : The learner is , 
1. remembering qualities of friends 
2. understanding words showing qualities 
3. applying knowledge in new situations 
4. analysing various situation 
Pre-requisites : The learner may know nouns 
Teaching learning materials : Chart, paper lots
Class room interaction procedure Pupils response 
Teacher initiates an informal interaction with the pupils. 
Then she creates a mental readiness in them by asking 
questions 
Teacher : Do you like your friends ? 
Do they have any qualities ? 
Do you like games ? 
Today we will play a game 
Teacher divides the students in to five 
groups pupils sit in groups. 
Teacher: Her are some paper lots. one from a group 
should take a lot which has a name of any of your 
classmate .Then she has to tell any of that students quality 
. 
1)One from first group comes and takes the lots the tells “ 
Renjitha is beautiful “ 
Teacher writes the word beautiful on the black board 
2)Second student comes ,take the lot and says “Lakshmi is 
cute” 
Teacher writes the word cute on the black board.
3)Third student tell “Meera is tall” 
Teacher writes the word tall on the black board 
4)Teacher tells the fourth student to come forward .Then 
student tells “Gopika is clever “ 
Teacher writes the word clever on the board 
5) Last one comes and tells .”Kasthoori is pretty” 
Teacher writes the word pretty on the black board 
BEAUTIFUL, CUTE, TALL, CLEVER, PRETTY 
` Teacher tells these words qualifies nouns as it 
indicates qualities of a person . These are adjectives . 
Teacher provides other examples on the chart.

  • 2. Class room interaction procedure Pupils response Teacher initiates an informal interaction with the pupils. Then she creates a mental readiness in them by asking questions Teacher : Do you like your friends ? Do they have any qualities ? Do you like games ? Today we will play a game Teacher divides the students in to five groups pupils sit in groups. Teacher: Her are some paper lots. one from a group should take a lot which has a name of any of your classmate .Then she has to tell any of that students quality . 1)One from first group comes and takes the lots the tells “ Renjitha is beautiful “ Teacher writes the word beautiful on the black board 2)Second student comes ,take the lot and says “Lakshmi is cute” Teacher writes the word cute on the black board.
  • 3. 3)Third student tell “Meera is tall” Teacher writes the word tall on the black board 4)Teacher tells the fourth student to come forward .Then student tells “Gopika is clever “ Teacher writes the word clever on the board 5) Last one comes and tells .”Kasthoori is pretty” Teacher writes the word pretty on the black board BEAUTIFUL, CUTE, TALL, CLEVER, PRETTY ` Teacher tells these words qualifies nouns as it indicates qualities of a person . These are adjectives . Teacher provides other examples on the chart.
