5. Technology provides tools for
humans to use, in good or bad
ways. A flint blade or scalpel
can be used for good or ill. A
mobile phone can call for an
ambulance and save a life or
set off a bomb to take lives.
Human are active agents.
Without them technology is
just a corrodes. Humans have
agendas that fuel their actions.
6. So our answer is, technology is
powerless to make the world
better or worse. Human
definitions of “Better” causes
them to change the world for
better or worse. Some think
capitalism or caliphates or
chaos would be ‘better’ and so,
they set work using whatever
technology they have at hand,
from stones to satellites.

8. Activity:
oThink of a
learning experience
that the use of
“technology”
helped you learn.
35. Technology as intellectual partner
(Jonassen 1996) to support learning by
reflecting:
For helping
learners to
articulate and
represent what
they know.
39. Whether used from the
traditional or constructivist
point of view, when USED
effectively. Research indicates
that technology “increases
students’ learning,
understanding, and
achievements
40. but also their motivation
to learn, encourage
collaborative learning and
supports the development
of critical thinking and
problem solving skills.”
41. Proper implementation of
technology in the classroom
gives students more
“control of their own
learning and … tends to
move classrooms from
teacher-dominated
environments to ones that
are more learner-centered.
42. Educational technology plays
various roles. Form the traditional
point of view, it serves as
presenter of knowledge just like
teachers. It also serves as
productivity tool. With the
internet, technology has facilitated
communication among people. From
the constructivist’s perspective,
educational technology is a
meaningful learning tools by serving
as a learning partner.
