4. The Most Precious Possession – Our Heart Two precious assets: Time & Heart Heart is the center of our spiritual existence. All important activities such as Iman, Ikhlaas, loving Allah, tawakkul, Sabr, Shukr are functions of heart! People do not continue doing good. Why? Because heart is corroded!

5. The Most Precious Possession – Our Heart The Prophet pbuh had said: Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body. If that is good, the whole body is good and if that is corrupted, the whole body gets corrupted.” On the day of judgment, wealth and children will not benefit. Only the one who comes with a ‘sound heart’ (free from evils) [26:89]. So, how to maintain it? Keep it clean?

6. The Most Precious Possession – Our Heart Allah says about the Qur’an, “O mankind! there hath come to you an exhortation from your Lord and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts, …” [10:57]. How can anyone give a better cure than what Allah has prescribed? Other cures: Remembering death, doing zikr and Istighfar, establishing regular prayers, avoiding sins, helping orphans and others, committing ourselves to Islamic activities.

8. Verb Count Please note that the count given next to each verb includes all basic tri-literal forms, active and passive voice forms (relatively rare), masculine and feminine forms. The next 5 slides show all of these basic forms (95 of them!). DON’T BE SCARED! 90% of the times, it is one of the 21 forms that occur in the Qur’an. The rest occur sparingly!

Allah is the one who created you then gave you (provisions)… 163 ذَكَرَ يَذْكُرُ اُذْكُرْ ذَاكِر مَذْكُور ذِكْر to remember وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرآن لِلذِّكْر And Indeed we have made the Qur’an easy to understand and remember. 461 كَفَرَ يَكْفُرُ اُكْفُرْ كَافِر مَكْفُور كُفْر to disbelieve; to be ungrateful قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ، وَنَشْكُرُكَ وَلاَ نَكْفُرُكَ :: Say, “O disbelievers !” We thank You and we are not ungrateful to You. 248 خَلَقَ يَخْلُقُ اُخْلُقْ خَالِق مَخْلُوق خَلْق to create مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ . Say, “I seek refuge in the Lord 92 نَصَرَ يَنْصُرُ اُنْصُرْ نَاصِر مَنْصُور نَصْر to help إِذَا جَاء نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ . When comes the Help of Allah and the Victory.

Increase me in knowledge. 148 رَحِمَ يَرْحَمُ اِرْحَمْ رَاحِم مَرْحُوم رَحْمَة to have mercy on فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَغْفِرَةً ... وَارْحَمْنِي Thus, forgive me … and have mercy on me. 100 سَمِعَ يَسْمَعُ اِسْمَعْ سَامِع مَسْمُوع سَمَاعَة to hear سَمِعَ اَلله ُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَه ، :: Allah has listened to the one who praised Him.

Say, “He (is) Allah the One.”

21. Statistics Versus Understanding Approximately Total Words: 77,800 50%: 38,900 We covered almost 113 words which occur 41684 times. (We took only ‘imp.’ words). Even if certain words have more than one meanings (which we have not covered) we have reached almost 50%.
