This document provides an overview and structure for studying news media as part of an A-Level media studies course. It outlines two case studies for in-depth analysis - The Daily Mail and The Guardian newspapers from the same date, along with their associated online and social media platforms. Students are instructed to analyze the newspapers' genres, languages, representations, readerships, ownership models and how political contexts may influence their content and regulation. Comparisons are drawn between the representations in each newspaper. The unit also involves practical tasks related to news media and a mock exam to assess students' understanding.
