OPEN MINDNESS

2. Critical Thinking
Is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully
conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing and evaluating
information gathered.
For example:
A plumber evaluates the materials that would best suit a
particular job.
A triage nurse analyzes the cases at hand and decides the order
by which the patients should be treated.

3. There are 7 Elements of the
Critical Thinking process:
Reflection – (Reflective thinking) it is an active, persistent, and careful
consideration of belief or supposed form of knowledge.
Analysis – (Analytical thinking) it is a critical component of visual
thinking that gives one the ability to solve problems quickly and
effectively.

4. There are 7 Elements of the
Critical Thinking process:
Acquisition of information – sometimes called scanning, refers to the
process through which an organization obtains information from
internal and external sources.
Creativity - it is a way of looking at problems or situation from fresh
perspective that suggests unorthodox solution.

5. There are 7 Elements of the
Critical Thinking process:
Structural thinking – is a type of systems thinking that gets to the
heart of the matter as to how things actually work.
Decision making – it is a key part of problem solving. It is the process
of identifying and choosing alternatives based on the values.
Debate – it is a formal discussion on a particular topic in public
meeting or legislative assembly, in which opposing arguments are put
forward.

6. Open Minded
It is the willingness to try new things or to hear and consider new
ideas.
Example of an Open minded person:
A person who listens to her/his opponent in a debate to
see if the information make sense.
