- Over 58,000 U.S. troops were killed in the war.
- Over 300,000 were wounded.
- Around 2 Million Vietnamese are killed.

3. Aftermath
- Many U.S. troops would suffer from PTSD when they got home.
- Many people in the U.S. did not treat returning soldiers well.
- Some were spit upon and called “baby killers.”

4. Loss of Faith in Government
- Pentagon Papers = New York Times released
secret papers that proved the U.S. Government
had lied to the public about Vietnam.
- The result was a loss of faith by many
Americans in our government.
