Gabriel "Gabby" Messinger, a Guardian Angel who has trouble following the rules and is known for
meddling in the love live's of others, is tasked by the Angel Michael to help the town of Angel Falls
find its Christmas spirit again.
First of all, I want to say that this film surpassed all my expectations. Sometimes, I am hesitant
when it comes to "angel films," but because of who the three stars are (and especially because of the
male lead), I was determined to give this film a chance. Furthermore, it is airing on Hallmark, and
how could I not watch it? If you are looking for a film that follows the Scriptural teachings of
angels, this might not be for you. I could speak to all the reasons why the theology of the movie is
unsound, but that is not why I watched this film. The film is so uncommonly well–written and acted
with such depth that I could care less about whether the story could ever happen or not. The values
of the film are intact, and if nothing else, I applaud Hallmark for emphasizing the concept of "free
will" (something most Christians and church people esteem) and including the Lord's Prayer (how
often do we see that on network TV?). I did not plan on becoming emotional during this movie, but
I literally spent the last twenty minutes or so crying off and on because the story was remarkably
poignant (and I wasn't certain how it would end) and the three main actors––Rachel Boston, Paul
Greene, and Beau Bridges––are such phenomenal artists!

I decided to write my literature after going through one of the textbooks in my physiological
psychology course and remembered about the cerebral hemispheres, which receives sensory
information from opposite sides of the body. This got interested in the topic of cerebral hemispheres
and sensory information after a split brain operation. The split brain procedure is a surgical
operation that's used for people that have severe epilepsy that can't be controlled by the drugs they
take. In the brains of people with severe epilepsy, the nerve cells on one side of the brain are
overactive and the overactivity is relayed to the other side by the corpus callosum, a bundle of nerve
cells that connect certain parts of one side of the brain to the other. The corpus callosum enables the
left and right side of the brain to share information so that both sides knows what the other is doing
and perceiving. Both sides of the brain engage in out of control activity that stimulate each other,
causing stereotypical seizures that recur throughout the day preventing the person from living a
normal life. Neurosurgeons have discovered that severing the corpus callosum greatly reduces the
often recurring seizures.
After the brain split procedure, the brain is divided into two hemispheres that work independently of
each other. Their sensory mechanisms, and motor systems no longer relay information. To the casual

his body horizontally with both hands. His body is covered with a golden body suit of armor except
for his head, which is turned toward Joan and has a full halo behind it. Margaret and Catherine are

both have golden circles over their heads as halos. Their dresses are also flowing and painted with

Bastien–Lepage showed his ability for capturing the naturalistic look of Joan, but he did not use this
ability to its full extent with the saints. The colors used on the saints are not quite as vivid as with
Joan. Michael's golden body armor and silver sword are not really shining at all, and all three halos
seem to be placed there without any real signs of glowing. The shadowing and detail work in their
clothing and skin are also not quite as life like as Joan. All together the three images of these saints
appear to be somewhat hazy.

sell them. She'd only receive half the proceeds. Besides, Mike, now bent on expunging all memories
of their marriage, expeditiously liquidated their past at fire sale prices. His previous groveling,
begging for counseling, anything to repair their marriage, now gone. Michelle knew he'd sell the
artwork for a fraction of its worth. Now, with their arrival, she was set. She'd thrive, not rot in the
peasant class where she'd been banished. Michelle created her sales plan as she opened the crate.

half million visitors annually, it is one of the largest art museums in the United States. The reason I
chose this site is that I read that it displayed Georges Seurat's A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of
La Grande Jatte, and I wanted to see it in person because it is so iconic. While at the Art Institute of
Chicago, I spent most of my time in "The Elizabeth Hammond Stickney Gallery". There were three
pieces in this gallery: Saint Michael and the Devil, The Birth of Saint John the Baptist, and Saint
George Killing the Dragon. Each piece was made in the Renaissance period in Europe in the
fifteenth to sixteenth centuries. I believe the main reason these pieces are grouped together is that
they all contain a depiction of a saint. Another reason for this arrangement is that all these paintings
all represent the survival of holy figures and the death of the evil ones. This is shown in each piece
by either a saint killing an evil creature or the birth of a holy saint. The piece I will analyze from the
previously mentioned gallery is Saint George Killing the Dragon by Bernat Martorell which was
made in 1434/35. This piece is a painting made on a support of panel with a media of tempera and

wings and plunge down to Earth all for the sake of being human. This is the story of the war
between humans and angels and it started one year ago.
The angel Nadie walked on the path of heaven being blamed for the misfortune in the battle against
demons, after all every place needs a pariah to take the blame, even heaven. The angel looked down
at Earth and looked at the humans marveling at their complexity, their weakness, and their strength.

Revelation 12:7–9 is a vision seen by John that speaks about the war that will occur in heaven. The
passage says,"Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and

heaven. The great dragon was hurled down―that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who
leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him." The passage
begins by stating that there will be a war in heaven, one between Michael and Satan. Michael is
God's archangel whose name means "one like God". This leads to the possibility that Michael is

Every year, on the colorful fall day of September 29th, Sacramento Waldorf School hosts a festival
where good triumphs and evil parishes. Young girls and boys eagerly dress up as knights, to help
Saint George and Saint Michael conquer and tame the malicious dragon, through good actions and
deeds. Along with fun activities, caramel apples, and motivating spirit, Michaelmas is a special way
to prepare students for the challenging academic year ahead.
Michaelmas is a whole school event, where grades first through twelve are assigned a different role,
to put on a show that has its own unique twist each time. The roles include villagers (played by first
through fourth grade), Knights (played by the fifth grade) the dragon (Played by the sixth grade),
Lords and nobles (played by seventh through eleventh grade) and lastly, Saint George and Saint

Carly Merryman ENGL 328 Stoll 3 October 2014 Paradise Lost: Books V & VI Milton's scale of
nature, while appearing linear, allows the creatures within in it to "ascend to God" by "steps,"
(V.512). This creates a dynamic scale that would enable a particular being the ability to move up and
down the scale based on its behaviors, and align itself closer to God. However, an animal or a
human can only climb so far. No matter how virtuous an animal was it could never surpass a human
because it is lacking the spiritual essence that God awarded to man. Similarly, a human, while
living, could never attain the same closeness to God as an angel. So while this allows for some
degree of mobility, each sect of the scale is confined within the parameters that God set forth. If the
creation was "one first matter all" as Raphael says to Adam then that would mean that all matter
came from God. Not only does this reconcile science and religious beliefs because as Newton's First
Law says, "Matter can neither be created nor destroyed," but it also asserts that all matter begins as

Analysis Of John Milton 's ' Paradise Lost '
In his epic, Paradise Lost, Milton entertains the reader with his version of how one of the greatest
falls of humanity occurred. Although many would consider God or Adam and Eve as the main
characters in a story like this, the main character of this epic is truly Satan. Satan is shown as a
strong and powerful character who is completely overwhelmed with emotions which create a type of
hell in his mind; even when he is in heaven, he cannot escape his true life. Satan's desire for
vengeance on God's creation not only unveils the personality of the protagonist but it also offers a
glimpse into what the character Adam is like.
The first quarter of Milton's great epic truly revolves around Satan's emotions and desires. Milton
does his best to help the reader find love for an evil character; he even mentions Satan crying in
hopes of having the reader feel sympathy for him. Satan's emotions are not only triggered by his
feeling of being below God but also his belief of being lower than The Son as well. The huge role
the devil plays throughout the story can be observed in one of the first descriptions of the beast.
Milton compares the size of the sinner to an island by describing that, "The pilot of some small
night–foundered skiff, deeming some island, oft, as seamen tell (Pg 15 lines 204–206)." Not only is
Satan a giant, but he also has a strong personality which can be observed in his actions. After falling

What Role Does The Satan Play In The Canterbury Tales
In Medieval Literature Satan was often used as a character. There was also more evidence during
this period of time. They were not that obvious unlike others but they were there for sure. They were
often symbolized in a certain character's and personalities that they had throughout the Prologue.
The characters were really relatable to the characteristics of Satan himself. Satan played a big role in
The Canterbury Tales with the Parson, Pardoner, and Summoned. IN the Prologue of The
Canterbury Tales, the Summoner is immediately characterized as Satan. He is described as red face
with big whelks which are pimples just used in another term back then. In the book Chaucer says,
"There was a Summoner with us in the place who had a fire–red cherubinnish face" (Chaucer line

Left–brained, right–brained, what's really the difference between the two? It may be surprising but
the cerebrum of the brain is split into two different hemispheres, both of which perform different
tasks and focus on different thoughts. Researchers use this very information to understand the
cerebral hemisphere functions, specifically researchers use a theory known as Left Brain–Right
Brain Theory.This essay will discuss the basic principal of the Left Brain–Right Brain Theory, the
three major points of the Left Brain– Right Brain Theory, the functions of each hemisphere, and a

Roger Sperry a famous pioneer involved in the field of cerebral hemispheres began the development
of the commonly known, Left Brain–Right Brain Theory. Before officially developing his theory,
Sperry went on to study the effects of epilepsy and perform split brain research (cutting of the
corpus); from Sperry's split brain research he learned that cutting the corpus could either eliminate
or lessen seizures in patients. Additionally, Sperry found that patients with split brain could not
identify objects if handled on the right side of the brain; patients could however identify objects
processed on the left side of the brain. From this information, Sperry was able to propose that the
left side of the brain controlled the language aspects of a human. With Sperry's previous
observations, researchers continued to conduct studies on the cerebral hemisphere of the brain,
researchers found that the left hemisphere of the brain specialized in language,speech, hand
mechanics (writing),mathematical calculations, senses of rhythm and time, and any sort of thought
used for analysing information. On the other hand, researchers found that the right hemisphere of
the brain focused on perception,visualization, faces,emotions harmonies,spatial perception, and

"O Hell!" Satan's opening exclamation of frustration immediately alerts readers to Satan's state of
mind. As Satan gazes on Adam and Eve, he is struck by their blissful state, which sends him into a
spiral of confusion as he slightly reconsiders his plan to destroy them. To himself, Satan addresses
the pair; he begins regretful and with pity for Adam and Eve. He later shifts in tone to vengeful,
envious, and angry. Further exemplifying Satan's contrasting attitudes, Milton uses antonymous
words of emotion throughout the passage. By the end of passage, Milton solidifies Satan's hardening
of heart and ends the struggle that has been festering inside Satan since his first act of rebellion
against God. Milton successfully uses both the shift in tone and the emotional diction to reveal
Satan's stormy internal conflict.
Throughout the passage, Milton inserts beautifully emotional words that describe Satan's contrasting
feelings: grief and joy, woe and bliss, loathing and delight. The positive feelings that Satan
expresses, though describing Adam and Eve's state, reflect the good nature in Satan. That nature is
visibly small, as Satan describes himself as joyful or blissful. He merely observes this happiness in
Adam and Eve; he even speaks the words with hints of regret. The negative words have a much
more powerful effect: Satan uses these words to describe his own feelings and his own domain,
Hell. The feelings of grief, woe, and loathing are his, not Adam and Eve's, and thus
