The use of fuzzy logic in redirecting mobile robot is based on two sets of received information. First set is
the instantaneous distance of the robot from the obstacle and second set is the instantaneous information of
the robot's position. For this purpose, the fuzzy rules base consists of forty-two bases, which is extracted
based on the robot's distance from obstacles, and the target position relative to the instantaneous
orientation of the robot. In the structure of fuzzy systems, minimal inference engine are considered. Also,
Extended Kalman filter is used for localization in a noisy environment. Accordingly, the inputs of the fuzzy
systems are determined based on the estimation of the localization process, the information of the obstacles
center and the target position. Also, the linear acceleration and instantaneous orientation of the mobile
robot are determined by the desired fuzzy structures which are applied to its kinematic model.

This paper presents a much advanced and efficient lane detection algorithm. The algorithm is based on (ROI) Region of Interest segmentation. In this algorithm images are pre-processed by top-hat transform for de-noising and enhancing contrast. ROI of a test image is then extracted. For detecting lines in the ROI, Hough transform is used. Estimation of the distance between Hough origin and lane-line midpoint is made. Lane departure decision is made based on the difference between these distances. As for the simulation part we have used Matlab software.Experiments show that the proposed algorithm can detect the lane markings accurately and quickly.

Machine vision is very important for ensuring the success of intelligent transportation systems, particularly in the area of road maintenance. For this reason, many studies had been focusing on automatic image-based crack detection as a replacement for manual inspection that had depended on the specialistโs knowledge and expertise. In the image processing technique, the pre-processing and edge detection stages are important for filtering out noises and in enhancing the quality of the edges in the image. Since threshold is one of the powerful methods used in the edge detection of an image, we have therefore proposed a modified Otsu-Canny Edge Detection Algorithm in the selection of the two threshold values as well as implemented a multi-resolution level fixed partitioning method in the analysis of the global and local threshold values of the image. This is then followed by a statistical measure in selecting the edge image with the best global threshold. This study had utilized the road crack image dataset that were obtained from Crackforest. The results had revealed the proposed method to not only perform better than the conventional Canny edge detection method but had also shown the maximum value derived from the local threshold of 5x5 partitioned image outperforming the other partitioned scales.

MEASURING SIMILARITY BETWEEN MOBILITY MODELS AND REAL WORLD MOTION TRAJECTORIEScscpconf
ย
Various mobility models have been proposed to represent the motion behaviour of mobile nodes in the real world. Selection of the most similar mobility model to a given real world environment is a challenging issue which has a significant impact on the quality of performance evaluation
of different network protocols. In this paper we propose a methodology for measurement of similarity between mobility models used in mobile networks simulation and real world mobility scenarios with different transportation modes. We explain our mobility metrics we have used for analysis of motion behavior of mobile nodes and a pre-processing method which makes our trajectories suitable for extraction and calculation of these metrics considering shape of the road networks and GPS noise. Then we use a feature selection method to find the most
discriminative features which are able to distinguish between trajectories with different transportation modes using a supervised learning and feature ranking method. Subsequently,
using our selected feature space we perform Fuzzy C-means Clustering to find the degree of similarity between each of our mobility models and real world trajectories with different
transportation modes. Our methodology can be used to select the most similar mobility model suitable for simulation of mobile network protocols (such as DTN and MANETs protocols) in a

In ad hoc networks, routing plays a pertinent role. Deploying the appropriate routing protocol is very important in order to achieve best routing performance and reliability. Equally important is the mobility model that is used in the routing protocol. Various mobility models are available and each can have different impact on the performance of the routing protocol. In this paper, we focus on this issue by examining how the routing protocol, Optimized Link State Routing protocol, behaves as the mobility model is varied. For this, three random mobility models, viz., random waypoint, random walk and random direction are considered. The performance metrics used for assessment of Optimized Link State Routing protocol are throughput, end-to-end delay and packet delivery ratio.

A NOVEL AND COST EFFECTIVE APPROACH TO PUBLIC VEHICLE TRACKING SYSTEMijujournal

There are lots of efforts being made by public transport corporations to improve public vehicle occupancy
by requesting the public to use public transport over other modes of transportation. It can be noted that if
the passenger knows with high confidence that the bus is going to come, he/she will definitely wait rather
than opting for other modes of transport. Efficient information can therefore help the users to choose faster
and more easier connections which saves their time. Trends in wireless technology like Global System for
Mobile communication (GSM) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) have resulted in easier and
faster communication. This paper presents a vehicle tracking system by integrating both of the above
mentioned technologies. The central server uses geographic information system (GIS) to track vehicles to
display the position information on the electronic map. This paper suggests a new cost-effective way for
tracking a vehicle in public transport domain and compares proposed technique to some of the methods
advised previously for tracking public vehicles.
Experimental Comparison of Trajectory Planning Algorithms for Wheeled Mobile ...IJRES Journal
ย
In this paper, we present an experimental approach to compare various trajectory planning methods for practical application of wheeled mobile robots. The first method generates a trajectory according to the acceleration limits of the mobile robot and its relationship with the curvature of the planned path. The second method is an improvement of the conventional convolution-based trajectory generation method, on which the heading angles of a curved path is being considered. Due to the limited scope of the considered constraints of the previous approaches, A third approach that conserves the merits of the convolution operator is proposed to consider the high curvature turning points of a sophisticated curve such as a Lemniscate of Gerono, which causes geometrical limitations during robot navigation. All methods are compared experimentally on a two-wheeled mobile robot. The goal of the experiment is to determine which approach meets the criteria of time optimality and sampling time uniformity while considering the physical limits of the mobile robot and the geometrical constraints of the planned path.

7. 7 Introduction Contributions We propose A change point-based segmentation method An inference model based on supervised learning A post-processing algorithm based on conditional probability Significance A step toward mining knowledge from raw GPS data for geographic applications on the Web A step toward understanding user behavior based on GPS data Evaluation results Large-scale data collected by 45 people over a period of 6 months Almost 70 percent accuracy
12. 12 Methodology Commonsense knowledge from real world Typically, people need to walk before transferring transportation modes Typically, people need to stop and then go when transferring modes Walk should be a transition between different transportation modes Transition matrix of transportation modes
13. 13 Methodology Change point-based Segmentation Algorithm Step 1: using a loose upper bound of velocity (Vt) and acceleration (at) to distinguish all possible Walk Points, non-Walk Points. Step 2: merge short segment (the length less than a thredshold) composed by consecutive Walk Points or non-Walk points Step 3: merge consecutive Uncertain Segment (less than 50 meters) to non-Walk Segment. Step 4: end point of each Walk Segment are potential change points
