Vision thing
“Outline your vision for ‘Digital Humanities’ and
how the Learning and Teaching Support Unit can
contribute to its development and
implementation.”
What is DH?
● “By digital humanities, we mean research that uses
information technology as a central part of its methodology,
for creating and/or processing data.” - Oxford Univ DH Centre
● "For me [Digital Humanities] has to do with the work that gets
done at the crossroads of digital media and traditional
humanistic study. And that happens in two different ways. On
the one hand, it’s bringing the tools and techniques of digital
media to bear on traditional humanistic questions. But it’s also
bringing humanistic modes of inquiry to bear on digital
media." - Kathleen Fitzpatrick, quoted in
Wikipedia: Digital Humanities
