What is the change you would like to achieve with this Innovation Plan?
• Increase awareness among local producers in one chiefdom to eat
what they grow in order to improve their nutritional status { Balanced
diet }

RELEVANCE / JUSTIFICATION
Why is this Innovation Plan relevant for the CSA in your country?
There is an evidence of Mal-nutrition ( this is district with one of the
highest level of stunting in the Country) despite the high level of
vegetables, cattle rearing and other plants growing within the
community.it also support and strengthen the existing activities
undertaking by the district Coordination Body (SUNI).
Who will benefit from the Plan?
Direct beneficiaries: Women, (pregnant women, teenage girls, lactating
mothers) infant and young children.
Vulnerable people within the communities.

ENABLING FACTORS
What kind of favourable conditions, existing today in your country, can
enable the achievement of this Plan?
• The existence of the SUNI platform at the district level
• The available Resources (land, divers crops, livestock)
• The link between the existing structures within SUNI and the local
Government and line ministries within the district.

What are the short-term objectives that lead you to the expected
changes?
• Strengthen Coordination among the existing structures with the district
• Increase awareness among local producers of diverse diet on the
importance and methods of achieving a balance diet to improve their
nutritional status.

STRATEGIC ACTIONS
What strategic actions would be implemented in order to reach these
objectives?
Action1: Training of master farmers to be nutrition champions .
Action 2: 1:Monthly Coordination meetings lead by local nutrition
champions(master farmers) among all local partners( local producers,
CSOs, Government partners, Media partners, ). Peer to peer learning.
Action 3: Radio panel discussions led by nutrition partners and joint
monitoring visits by DCB platforms reps and Master Famers.

Which organizations from the Civil Society and other relevant actors
should be involved in the implementation of the Plan? What would be
their role?
• Local Councils: ensure that plans are in line with nutrition policy
• SUNI-CSP: Advocacy, lobbying, and implementation
• MAFFS: provide technical support and ensure training are in line with
the existing policies
• Media: participate in the training and dissemination of key nutrition
messages
• Local Producers: participate in the training, and cascade the training
through peer learning.

How are you going to evaluate the results of the Plan and how are you
going to disseminate these results at the national level?
• Quick KAP Survey on their eating behaviour
• collecting case studies before and after

advocate for scaling up nutrition in other chiefdoms and districts,
SUNI partners etc.
