Visit to the British Museum

2. Reason for Trip
• Midpoint trip into our topic of Africa.
• Children already have a basic understanding of
Africa as a continent and some knowledge of
the culture.
• Trip will embed existing knowledge and act as
an enquiry point to generate curiosity.
12. Children to take notes on form and function, observing
designs and patterns for decorative items in comparison to
those on items with functional purposes.
14. Children can make
observational sketches
of patterns used in
textiles and clothing
whilst at the museum,
taking note of colours
used and how different
patterns interact.
