Goals:
Students will understand what the Statue of Liberty represents.
Students will communicate about technology using developmentally appropriate and
accurate terminology.
Students will illustrate and communicate original ideas and story about the Statue of
Liberty using digital tools and media rich resources.
Objectives:
Students will Identify an American symbol such at the Statue of Liberty and understand
the people and events associated with them.
Students will also use technology by engaging in learning activities.
Students will also work in a collaborative group and use technology to create a story
about the statue of liberty?
Students will also use technology to make a Picture of the statue of liberty and label what
the parts that parts represent a Pictorial input chart. For example the crown has seven
spikes. The torch means a becon of light , hope and friendship.
Day-to-Day Sequence of Activities:
Cognitive content chart, songs, pictorial Input chart, time line, graphic orginizers, big
picture, Poem,Important big book, Ipads
Software and Hardware – Lab Time – needs
Ipads at least a week for 45 mins. A day. Or computer lab two times a week for 30

Accommodations for Differentiated Instruction
Resource Student: Pull into small groups and front load.
Gifted Student: Start up high and they can continue on from writing sentences to
paragraphs.
