2
The Leading for Results®
programme develops more confident, adept and
resilient leaders.
Leading for Results®
2016 Programme
What will I gain?
You will gain the following from the programme:
• Greater confidence in building and leading teams in a range of situations
• A more comprehensive understanding of leadership approaches and tools
• Further development and consolidation of your own unique style of leadership
• A greater self-awareness and ability to reflect on your leadership and results
• An improved ability to apply strategic frameworks
• Stronger skills in motivating and coaching for high performance
• Greater confidence in dealing with difficult conversations
• A greater ability to lead teams through change
• Increased resilience to maximise the amount of time you are performing at your best
• A network of peers across a range of organisations
Your organisation will gain as you apply new skills to lifting the performance of your
current team.
Overview
This programme is for people wanting to develop
or extend their leadership skills. It has received
very positive feedback from past participants,
for example: “The course helped me to understand
that becoming a successful leader requires
different skills and thinking from what I have
had in the past. Linda and Gavin’s approach
takes you on a challenging, motivating and
rewarding journey to understand how to think
and act as a leader.” (Tony Wilson, MPI)
Participants will come out of the programme
with a comprehensive set of approaches to
leadership, and the confidence to apply them
in setting a direction and taking their people
with them in a range of situations. Along the
way they will work on applying their learning
to opportunities and challenges in their current
role, to the benefit of their organisations.
Programme structure
The diagram on the next page provides an
overview of the three phases of the
programme. The programme has been
designed to ensure a sustained focus on
leadership development over six months.
Learning is reinforced and maximised
through a combination of workshops on
particular topics, Action Learning Group
(peer learning) sessions, and one-to-one
coaching.
It has also been designed to be highly
applied. The content covered in the 8
workshop days has been chosen for its
applicability to real-world situations, while
coaching and peer learning takes application
further. In the first phase of the programme
participants set goals related to their current
role to focus their learning.

Comments from past
participants
The programme has an evaluation average of
4.2 out of 5 across all participants, evaluation
categories and workshops. Comments have
included:
“We were commenting what a great
combination you two are. You both had
great energy and humour. That was
fantastic!” L.W.
“The Leading for Results course helped me
to understand that becoming a successful
leader requires different skills and thinking
from what I have had in the past. Linda and
Gavin’s approach takes you on a
challenging, motivating and rewarding
journey to understand how to think and act
as a leader.” T.W.
“It’s great to have a group of people who
I’ve gotten to know and trust, which
enriches the experience over time.” S.A.
“Linda and Gavin make an excellent team
with Gavin’s examples from the coalface
and Linda’s extensive training experience
combining for an engaging and informative
course. The combination of workshops, one
on one coaching, buddy support and
action learning groups ensure that lessons
learnt are practiced, refined and put into
practice. Gavin and Linda not only provide
great examples from their own experience
but also create an environment for those on
the course to chip in with their own
experiences and leadership issues. A
fantastic opportunity to discuss and road
test ideas with your peers.” A.H.
“I now see that I have to approach
management as if it was a new
profession.” J.H.
“I really like how this course progresses
over time. Keeps me motivated and on my
toes. This means I am absorbing more.”
T.W.
“Absolutely loved the course - it has been
