or extend their leadership skills. It has received
very positive feedback from past participants,
for example: “The course helped me to understand
that becoming a successful leader requires
different skills and thinking from what I have
had in the past. Linda and Gavin’s approach
takes you on a challenging, motivating and
rewarding journey to understand how to think
and act as a leader.” (Tony Wilson, MPI)
Participants will come out of the programme
with a comprehensive set of approaches to
leadership, and the confidence to apply them
in setting a direction and taking their people
with them in a range of situations. Along the
way they will work on applying their learning
to opportunities and challenges in their current
role, to the benefit of their organisations.
Programme structure
The diagram on the next page provides an
overview of the three phases of the
programme. The programme has been
designed to ensure a sustained focus on
leadership development over six months.
Learning is reinforced and maximised
through a combination of workshops on
particular topics, Action Learning Group
(peer learning) sessions, and one-to-one
coaching.
It has also been designed to be highly
applied. The content covered in the 8
workshop days has been chosen for its
applicability to real-world situations, while
coaching and peer learning takes application
further. In the first phase of the programme
participants set goals related to their current
role to focus their learning.
