13. In the short-term, we’re looking for something pretty simple . . . A sign, a
token, a gesture that says: people care.
• There are 350 pupils in this school; 70% of them are on government
subsistence (many of those because they come from blood feud
families);
• They lack very basic supplies . . .
• School bags
• Notebooks, pens, paper
• Art supplies
•And more advanced supplies are a dream . . .
• Geometry tool kits (protractors, compasses, etc.)
• Math and science teaching tools
15. RELATIONSHIPS COULD INCLUDE:
• Facebook-friending teachers and getting to know who they are, what
they need;
• Coordinating more structured relationships between student-teachers
here and teachers in Albania – to share teaching strategies, provide
moral support, develop cultural exchanges;
• Coordinating informal activities that pair American students with grade-
level peers in Albania;
• Defining Laç as a partner school and developing structured and formal
links between service / student/ organizations here and Albanian
