3. Message on World Environment Day 2013:
Respected Teachers & Dear Students, I am privileged to interact
with you all on this day of Environment today…Friends, our
imbalanced & blind development ambitions have forced us to live
in a condition of instable ecosystem…Over the period of time, we
have deteriorated our soil, water & air...Consequently we have so
far deforested a huge green coverage all over the World with the
expanding pace of Industrialization & urbanization…Global Warming
is visible & we don’t need to exemplify this prevailing high
temperature phenomena through mere laboratory analysis based
predictions…Yes the climate has not only drifted but it’s still
changing day by day…The drastic transition in the Global climate
is question of serious concern because it’s been impacting our
life in various ways…Global Climate Change is affecting severely
to our farming community…The pattern of agriculture has
drastically been shifted in a state of vulnerability where we are
witnessing a discontinuous, irregular & non-uniform monsoon
rainfall…

5. Such state of climatic disappointment has forced a huge mass of farming
classes to adopt the Genetically Modified Seeds (GMOs) all round the
globe…GMOs seeds were initially found to be promising as the per capita
yield was not only higher but the genetic mutations provide immunity
against some known pest attack as well as such seeds can grow in adverse
circumstances of climatic conditions of low water availability…GMOs seeds
take normally lesser time to harvest so why such merits brought attention
to adopt this mutant variety of seeds globally…Such enforced practice of
inorganic farming under the impact of Global Climate Change was proven to
be lethal for the health of not only the human but also for the potency
of the soil …GMOs deteriorate to instablize the soil ecology…Vast
introduction of GMOs seeds particularly in developing Nations like India
without going through a proper experimentation & evaluation of
Environmental Impact Assessment, Soil Impact Assessment etc. over the
Human’s health & food chain system have so far proven to be a great
economic loss…Farmers are being enforced to suicide & there are being
registered the suicidal cases of farmers from Vidharbha in Maharashtra,
Andhra-Pradesh & other regions of India….GMOs are not economically &
environmentally viable solutions but yes even if the Government wants to
continue such GMOs variety need a proper Environmental Impact Assessment,
Soil Impact Assessment & Health Assessment with regard to human & wide
biodiversity in an ecosystem to get ensured that it won’t affect our poor
farming habitations…

7. We are passing through a vulnerable state where the
natural disasters are proving to be man-made…We human over
a period of time are becoming notorious in exploiting our
natural resources…We have been over-exploiting our
conventional Natural Resources since post-
industrialization regime…Now it’s been a state
depletion…The Natural Resource Mismanagement developed a
wide socio-economic disparities globally…Inequality & non-
uniformity in Natural Resource utilization lead to leave
the world under the corporate colonial umbrella…Corporate
Ecological Imperialism is operating through an integrated
nexus of giant corporate houses & the respective
Government…

9. We are observing a drastic depletion in our
forest cover & its biodiversity…It causes
depletion in our Genetic Resources…We have
forced an uncountable numbers of flora &
fauna species to extinct & many more in the
Endangered, Vulnerable & Rare list in the
WWF Red Data Book…

11. Waste Management is a challenge in urban habitations…the
advent of plastics was a revolution in beginning & when
its became an integral part of our day-to-day life, the
plastics are supposed to be the most destructive element
to the Human Ecosystem…Plastics are not only affecting the
terrestrial ecosystem but its equally dangerous for the
fauna of the maritime ecosystem…Friends we just need to
eradicate this menace…We need to change our life style…We
need to omit such practice of carrying non-biodegradable
substance …We should develop a discipline to carry the
bags of cloths & other than plastics in our day-to-day
life…We should discard the use of plastics in any form &
its manifestations…

13. Friends, safe drinking water is our inherent fundamental
right…India is suffering from a serious water crisis…Our major
surface fresh water resources are filled with untreated waste
from the industries & the urban waste from major & small urban
habitations…Consequently such water is losing its potable
nature…High degree of harmful contamination like Cadmium,
Mercury, Arsenic, Fluorine, complex hydrocarbons & micro-
organisms have left the major & minor river channels are not
potable for the proper human use…Enriched pouring of
fertilizers & chemical pesticides is contaminating our pond
ecosystem…Leaching to contaminate our under-ground water
resources with arsenic, fluorine, Iron etc. is a substance of
critical concern…Now a day such lethal heavy metals are found
in our food chain system…Water is the life-line component for
not only the human but for all flora & fauna…So friends
preserve our water resource…Stop the misuse of water…harvest
the rain water by normal traditional practice of digging a
pond around each home…We need to harvest the rain water to
maintain the under-ground water level…Conserving the majority
of rain water will balance our water table…We all need your
constructive cooperation…

15. Friends, protect the trees…Let them to suppose it as an eminent member of your
family…nurture them…nourish them to grow…Cover the Mother Earth Green & an
smiling mother earth will let you all to smile, happy, healthy & prosperous…There is
no solution to this Global Climate change except our efforts to adopt a simple life
style based on minimum use of natural resources…We human would have to care
our forest, river, oceans, wetlands, coral reef biome…

17. It’s time to look into the opportunity to generate power
from diverse non-conventional energy resources like wind
energy, solar energy, geo-thermal energy, nuclear energy,
biomass etc…Our Government is working but more importantly
we people need to cooperate…Our participation is the key
to reach at a possible climatic solution…be a climate
leader & observe the change!
Environment at Risk creates vulnerability in health…
A Healthy Ecosystem guides you a healthy & economically
prosperous life….
