Kubernetes ecosystem is seeing adoption across the industry and is on the path to becoming the de-facto orchestration platform on modern cloud service delivery. Kubernetes not only provides primitives for deploying run microservices in the cloud but goes one step further and helps you define interactions and lifecycle for your APIs. The Ingress API in Kubernetes allows you to expose your microservice to the outside world and define routing policies for your north-south traffic (or traffic coming into your virtual data center). We invite Harry Bagdi, Sr. Cloud to discuss in-depth about the design and why of Ingress resource, the benefits of using Ingress to manage your API lifecycle using CI/CD pipelines, and how you can accomplish Ingress using a popular open-source solution, Kong. Kong’s Ingress Controller implements authentication, load-balancing, traffic throttling, transformations, caching, metrics, and logging across Kubernetes clusters.

It is microservices design pattern.
An API gateway is a service which is the entry point into the application from the outside world. It’s responsible for request routing, API composition, and other functions, such as authentication.
There are a lot of issues when client is talking to multiple components to get the job done. These include multiple proxies at client side, different logic to handle different calls, client needs to know the implementation details of server.
A much better approach is for a client to make a single request to what’s known as an API gateway. An API gateway is a service which is the single entry-point for API requests into an application. It’s similar to the Facade pattern from object-oriented design. Like a facade, an API gateway encapsulates the application’s internal architecture and provides an API to its clients. It might also have other responsibilities, such as authentication, monitoring, and rate limiting.
These are also termed as BFF - Backend For Frontend

It acts as a “backend for the frontend”. The clients do not know which services they are talking to. They communicate with a single interface - API Gateway. The gateway resolves the client requests and distributes them to respective services.

Developing cloud-native applications easily and efficiently presents significant challenges for many teams. This is because, in addition to implementing domain-specific features and microservices, developers are now often jointly responsible for building the required cloud services with Infrastructure as Code à la Terraform. Unfortunately, the associated high cognitive load quickly leads to overload and suboptimal solutions.
Crossplane is an open source add-on for Kubernetes that addresses this problem. Using Crossplane, one can declaratively build cloud infrastructure for all popular cloud providers without writing a line of code. In addition, there is the ability to create highly specific self-service APIs and abstractions that can then be applied very easily by feature teams.
This talk will demonstrate the practical use of Crossplane with its features in AWS and GCP, as well as the seamless integration with a GitOps approach.

Kong

Kong
Kong is an open source API gateway that runs in front of RESTful APIs. It provides functionality through plugins such as authentication, security, traffic control, and logging. Kong creates and manages APIs and plugins to add authentication. For example, a key authentication plugin is enabled on an API, and a consumer is created with a key that must be provided in requests to access the API. Without a valid key, requests return an error.
AWS SQS SNS
Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS) allows you to send push notifications to mobile or other distributed services, and scales as needs grow. It supports sending messages individually or broadcasting to multiple destinations. Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS) is a fully managed message queuing service that can transmit any volume of data reliably and scalably. SQS uses three core APIs and stores messages redundantly across servers, providing high durability. It supports standard queues for high throughput and FIFO queues for strict ordering.

Building and deploying cloud native APIs is a complex operation, and can require a multitude of components. In this workshop we focus on the fundamentals of deploying the runtime API code and publishing the API through an API gateway. To achieve this we use NGINX Unit as a polyglot application server and NGINX web server as an API gateway. With this combination we deliver a solution lightweight enough for dev and strong enough for production.
You will learn how to use NGINX Unit to run one or more apps and APIs in a variety of languages, including seamlessly deploying new versions. You will then see the best practices for how to configure NGINX to perform the common API gateway functions of request routing, rate limiting, and authentication for multiple APIs. We will also touch on advanced use cases such as HTTP method enforcement, and JSON validation.
No previous experience of NGINX or NGINX Unit is required, but a basic knowledge of HTTP and JSON/REST APIs is valuable.

DEEP LEARNING FOR SMART GRID INTRUSION DETECTION: A HYBRID CNN-LSTM-BASED MODEL
As digital technology becomes more deeply embedded in power systems, protecting the communication
networks of Smart Grids (SG) has emerged as a critical concern. Distributed Network Protocol 3 (DNP3)
represents a multi-tiered application layer protocol extensively utilized in Supervisory Control and Data
Acquisition (SCADA)-based smart grids to facilitate real-time data gathering and control functionalities.
Robust Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are necessary for early threat detection and mitigation because
of the interconnection of these networks, which makes them vulnerable to a variety of cyberattacks. To
solve this issue, this paper develops a hybrid Deep Learning (DL) model specifically designed for intrusion
detection in smart grids. The proposed approach is a combination of the Convolutional Neural Network
(CNN) and the Long-Short-Term Memory algorithms (LSTM). We employed a recent intrusion detection
dataset (DNP3), which focuses on unauthorized commands and Denial of Service (DoS) cyberattacks, to
train and test our model. The results of our experiments show that our CNN-LSTM method is much better
at finding smart grid intrusions than other deep learning algorithms used for classification. In addition,
our proposed approach improves accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score, achieving a high detection
accuracy rate of 99.50%.

physical, and biological technologies. This study examines the integration of 4.0 technologies into
healthcare, identifying success factors and challenges through interviews with 70 stakeholders from 33
countries. Healthcare is evolving significantly, with varied objectives across nations aiming to improve
population health. The study explores stakeholders' perceptions on critical success factors, identifying
challenges such as insufficiently trained personnel, organizational silos, and structural barriers to data
exchange. Facilitators for integration include cost reduction initiatives and interoperability policies.
Technologies like IoT, Big Data, AI, Machine Learning, and robotics enhance diagnostics, treatment
precision, and real-time monitoring, reducing errors and optimizing resource utilization. Automation
improves employee satisfaction and patient care, while Blockchain and telemedicine drive cost reductions.
Successful integration requires skilled professionals and supportive policies, promising efficient resource
use, lower error rates, and accelerated processes, leading to optimized global healthcare outcomes.

reserves and the ancient silk trade route, along with China's diplomatic endeavours in the area, has been
referred to as the "New Great Game." This research centres on the power struggle, considering
geopolitical, geostrategic, and geoeconomic variables. Topics including trade, political hegemony, oil
politics, and conventional and nontraditional security are all explored and explained by the researcher.
Using Mackinder's Heartland, Spykman Rimland, and Hegemonic Stability theories, examines China's role
in Central Asia. This study adheres to the empirical epistemological method and has taken care of
objectivity. This study analyze primary and secondary research documents critically to elaborate role of
china’s geo economic outreach in central Asian countries and its future prospect. China is thriving in trade,
pipeline politics, and winning states, according to this study, thanks to important instruments like the
Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the Belt and Road Economic Initiative. According to this study,
China is seeing significant success in commerce, pipeline politics, and gaining influence on other
governments. This success may be attributed to the effective utilisation of key tools such as the Shanghai

These pipelines are adept at managing low-latency, high-data-volume scenarios.

This paper describes a speed control device for generating electrical energy on an electricity network based on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used for wind power conversion systems. At first, a double-fed induction generator model was constructed. A control law is formulated to govern the flow of energy between the stator of a DFIG and the energy network using three types of controllers: proportional integral (PI), sliding mode controller (SMC) and second order sliding mode controller (SOSMC). Their different results in terms of power reference tracking, reaction to unexpected speed fluctuations, sensitivity to perturbations, and resilience against machine parameter alterations are compared. MATLAB/Simulink was used to conduct the simulations for the preceding study. Multiple simulations have shown very satisfying results, and the investigations demonstrate the efficacy and power-enhancing capabilities of the suggested control system.

Medical image analysis has witnessed significant advancements with deep learning techniques. In the domain of brain tumor segmentation, the ability to
precisely delineate tumor boundaries from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
scans holds profound implications for diagnosis. This study presents an ensemble convolutional neural network (CNN) with transfer learning, integrating
the state-of-the-art Deeplabv3+ architecture with the ResNet18 backbone. The
model is rigorously trained and evaluated, exhibiting remarkable performance
metrics, including an impressive global accuracy of 99.286%, a high-class accuracy of 82.191%, a mean intersection over union (IoU) of 79.900%, a weighted
IoU of 98.620%, and a Boundary F1 (BF) score of 83.303%. Notably, a detailed comparative analysis with existing methods showcases the superiority of
our proposed model. These findings underscore the model’s competence in precise brain tumor localization, underscoring its potential to revolutionize medical
image analysis and enhance healthcare outcomes. This research paves the way
for future exploration and optimization of advanced CNN models in medical
imaging, emphasizing addressing false positives and resource efficiency.
