This document discusses using the Kanban Maturity Model (KMM) to guide an organization's evolution toward increased agility. It provides objectives for a workshop on KMM, including understanding the model, assessing the organization's current maturity level, and defining a roadmap for improvement. The workshop includes exercises to map dependencies between services, appraise Kanban practices and cultural values, visualize the current and target maturity levels, identify barriers to evolution, and define experiments and actions for the roadmap. The goal is to evolve the organization from the individual to an efficient network of aligned services through developing culture and improving fitness for purpose.
The presentation described the seven levels of the Kanban Meturity Model and based on real world examples explains how to use the model, if you are Agile or Kanban coach, project or service manager, as well as business owner.
Recent statistics indicate that 97% of organizations conduct Agile initiatives but only 6% of these initiatives come to enable greater adaptability to market conditions. This is worrying.
How can we improve this outcome?
Which is the key element that can enable obtaining better results?

Do you know how well your content is performing? Is it achieving the goals you set for it? If it is, do you know why? And even more importantly, if it isn’t, do you know why not? It can be difficult to answer these questions. We know we want to measure something, but we might not know what to measure. We might not even be exactly sure how to articulate the answer we hope to get so that we can “ask the right question.”
In this session, Andrea will describe a method for evaluating your problem space starting with the result you hope to achieve. She’ll discuss the merits of this approach, how it will help you to determine what data you want to collect, and how to best collect and analyze the right data to determine the effectiveness of various kinds of content.
Organizations across the world are grappling with how to maximize the knowledge that their employees have access to. They face similar core business challenges related to knowledge management (KM):
- Staff can’t easily find useful and relevant information, when they need it.
- There is a lack of trust that the information their staff come across is complete, up-to-date, and accurate.
- Collaboration is hindered by silos.
- Expertise, best practices, and lessons learned aren’t exchanged in a way that could drive innovation and creativity.
- Knowledge is “walking out the door” when people leave.
- Onboarding processes aren’t supporting new staff in getting acclimated effectively.
While many organizations face similar business challenges, how these challenges emerge and look within an organization vary based on its culture and operating environment. In this presentation, Mary Little, Practice Lead, and Kristin McNally, Senior Consultant, of Enterprise Knowledge, share methods and proven practices in assessing an organization’s KM maturity, surfacing their primary KM challenges, and defining a roadmap to their KM goals that is framed within the context of their business.
