Kiva is a micro-lending nonprofit that allows individuals to lend small amounts of money to help fund entrepreneurs in developing countries. Kiva Fellows travel abroad to partner microfinance institutions to facilitate connections between borrowers and lenders, spread awareness of microfinance, and help train MFI staff. Fellows serve for 12 weeks to a year with opportunities to apply on a rolling basis for placements starting in January, April, July, and October each year.
