The Nationwide Financial Diversity
& Inclusion Business Unit Council is
a key component of the initiatives at
Nationwide striving to promote such
an environment.
Mission of the Council
Since its inception in 2009, the
council has been focused on enabling
NF’s growth and innovation by
fostering a diverse and inclusive
culture through collaboration,
education and communication.
The 2015-2016 Council is currently
made up of 30+ associate members
representing various business units
supported by NF. The council
members contribute various skills,
knowledge, and years of tenure with
the company. Yet, they are all
singularly purposed to do one thing:
To help increase awareness and
integration of diversity and inclusion
within NF.
The council is privileged to have a
supportive sponsor with outstanding
vision, in Eric Henderson. “My
vision for our business is that our
leaders, associates, suppliers and
sales force reflect the diversity found
in the communities we serve,” says
Council sponsor Eric Henderson,
SVP Individual Products and
Solutions.
Last year, through close partnerships
with the Office of Diversity and
Inclusion and our Associate
Resource Groups, the Council
engaged in the following initiatives
among NF associates to share and
promote awareness, best practices
and to showcase the Council’s
brand:
• Developed the Diversity &
Inclusion Discussion Guide (part
of the NA Communications
Toolkit in November 2015)
• Co-hosted ARG Fair at Rings
Road
• Created Diversity & Inclusion
name plates for members
• Enhanced the NF Diversity &
Inclusion SPOT site
• Hosted Diversity and Inclusion
Food Day at Rings Road
The Council has also established
partnerships with various NF

I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, and I am
second in a family of seven boys
and eight girls. My brothers and
sisters live in the UK.
Please give a little background

I have a bachelor’s degree in
Secretarial Administration and
Public Administration. I also have a
diploma in Data Processing.
Please describe your career
path prior to and within
Nationwide.
I started my career as a bank teller
after I graduated from college. I also
worked with ExxonMobil
