King Edward essay
By Mohamed Mahmoud
king Edward school promotional video starts of by having the
chief master to introduce the school and what they have to
offer. Throughout the video it shows dissimilar shot types
and also when he is talking about different facilities its fades
to the place but you can still hear his voice in the background
this is very good use of L cut this is done because they want it
to be effective also to not be boring. Also the picture above
of the chief master was really effective because you can also
see the schools logo so this gives the audience a clear
thought about the school.
The next shot displays a close up of
students studying and they are all
followed by a range of clips this is
really effective because the head
master shows us and tells us what
the school has to offer also the L
cut was really effective and all the
clips created a montage.
The use of text and tittles
made it believable and it
made it look realistic also
it was shown during both
of the interview as you
can see the images on the
left hand side, this gave
the audience a better
understanding of the
school. If you look at both
of the interviews you can
see it’s a mid-close-up of
the teacher and the
student and as you can
see the background looks
organized and effective
and clear in both shots
this shows mise-en-scene
because the background
goes with the persons roll
as you can see the head
of art the background has
artistic pieces in it .
As you can see from this
first screen shot it shows
the whole school and the
logo this is a really good
shot because it shows you
how the school looks and
also the school logo. Also
when you are watching
the school you could hear
a student speaking in the
background this is good
use of a L-cut. The two
screens shots For example
the establishing tracking
shot of the school is used
to set the location of the
school from the outdoor
and furthermore they get
a shot of the school logo
flag.
