Опыт международной сети Импакт Хаб по построению сообщества социальных предпринимателей
Екатерина Халецкая (Импакт Хаб - http://www.impacthub.net/)
This document discusses social capital and social networks. It defines social capital as positive effects from social networking that create virtual networks for bonding and bridging relationships. Social networks are described as online networks that connect people with similar interests. The document also discusses how social network analysis maps relationships between connected entities and how social networks both enable connections between distant people but may diminish offline social gatherings.
Nanocelebrity: A SxSW Future 15 SessionShane Tilton
In the spirit of the theme of this session, I would make an argument that we may be moving slightly away from the microcelebrity and heading towards something I’m calling the nanocelebrity. I originally made the argument that a nanocelebrity was defined an individual who was using social media, had a smaller audience than the microcelebrity (somewhere between 600 to 1,000 people) and would tailor their content around a field of niche information and know how to explain that field to their audience.
This document summarizes a presentation about research conducted on the online community Everything2.com. The presentation covered 3 studies:
1. A study of how user tenure relates to participation patterns over time. It found that short-term users were more likely to delete early write-ups and submitting a second write-up increased chances of long-term participation.
2. A study predicting future content contributions using metrics like new write-ups, deleted write-ups, messages, and abandoned accounts. It found it could predict contributions with over 90% accuracy.
3. A proposed study of habitual use of online communities, examining how behaviors become automatic over time based on theories of habit and socio-cognition.

GRAPH BASED LOCAL RECODING FOR DATA ANONYMIZATIONijdms
This document summarizes a research paper that proposes a new local recoding approach for data anonymization based on minimum spanning tree partitioning. The approach aims to achieve k-anonymity while minimizing information loss. It involves constructing a minimum spanning tree using distances between data points based on attribute hierarchies, removing edges to form initial clusters, and generating equivalence classes that satisfy the anonymity requirement k. Experiments showed the proposed local recoding framework produced better quality anonymized tables than existing global recoding and clustering approaches.

We're in this together! Summary Interview Findings for the eZ Publish CommunityPaul Di Gangi
The following presentation is a summary of the interviews conducted for a research project of eZ Systems and the eZ Publish community.
We would like to thank the many community members that participated in the interviews as well as the many eZ Systems employees who spent time with us so that we could learn more about the community.
The document discusses social applications and their impact on business, media, and society. It explores what makes applications social, the common factors in successful social applications, and what is worth building. It examines concepts like profiles defined by aggregated user data and flows rather than static information, discovery of things, places and people through social networks, and the importance of groups and communities defined by shared user tags rather than predefined categories.

Introduction To Communities In Alstom[Arial Font]Walfa Chouki
The document discusses communities within Alstom and how they benefit both the company and employees. It defines communities of practice and social networks, and explains how communities connect people, facilitate knowledge sharing, organizational development and training. Communities are different from other structures in that they focus on sharing knowledge and developing skills through collaboration rather than accomplishing tasks. The benefits of communities include access to knowledge, problem solving support, and idea sharing. Building a successful community requires defining its identity and roles, activities, resources, and launch. Interactions within communities are guided by members, leaders, and sponsors. Communities can strategically, operationally, and culturally impact the company when supported long-term.

Public relations (PR) involves managing communication between an organization and its various audiences to build mutually beneficial relationships. PR aims to strategically influence outcomes by identifying goals, strategies, objectives and tactics. It requires two-way communication through researching audience needs and perspectives. Effective PR is proactive by establishing goodwill before issues arise and reactive by responding appropriately when problems occur. Key principles include understanding that organizations depend on public consent, practicing two-way communication, acting with integrity before communicating, prioritizing clarity over cleverness, managing expectations proactively, and serving as a bridge rather than a barrier between organizations and their publics.

Building constituency: a communications approach for open leadersRowan Hetherington
The document discusses building constituency as an important leadership approach for driving collaborative progress. It defines constituency as an activated group with common interests or ambitions that actively opt-in. It then presents a five step approach for leaders to build active constituencies: 1) define the constituency, 2) develop a vision for outcomes and relationship, 3) gather consolidated insights on the constituency, 4) develop integrated communication strategies to engage, energize and embrace the constituency, and 5) iterate based on outcomes, data and learnings. The goal is for leaders to listen to and collaborate with constituents to co-create value.
1. The document discusses designing an online collaborative workshop for graduate students based on a client's request.
2. It analyzes various online collaborative tools and recommends the social networking platform Ning, which could be customized to the client's needs through a mock-up prototype.
3. The analysis is informed by literature on building online communities and collaboration as well as focus groups with graduate students.
1) Ideafx is a crowdsourcing platform that allows users to share ideas, companies to post challenges, and implement the best solutions submitted by the community.
2) It aims to bring together all idea-makers on a single platform to facilitate exponential growth of ideas.
3) The platform offers free and paid subscription plans for companies and organizations to manage submitted ideas and engage with users.
The document discusses designing an online collaborative workshop. It provides background on principles for successful online communities and collaborative tools. It analyzes various technology options before determining that a customized Ning platform best meets the client's needs of encouraging online sharing, feedback and scaling capabilities. Key features of the customized Ning prototype are described.

45. Sense of Community Theory
by Dave McMillan, the “granddaddy” of community theory
Four key drivers of community
1. Membership
2. Influence
3. Reinforcement
4. Shared emotional connection
This section is thanks to Jesse from IH Ottawa and based on her contribution during the Gathering in Madrid!
46. 1. Membership
• Boundaries: they signify membership (i.e. some people are in
a people are out) and symbols that denote this belonging
E.g.: making a photo wall of members
• Safe place: These boundaries create a safe place for people to
speak honestly and openly
E.g.: by knowing who is in and who is not
• Sense of Belonging: This freedom creates a sense of
belonging – a feeling of acceptance and being welcome
• Personal Investment: Because of this you are willing to make
a personal investment – financial or in-kind
E.g.: hosting a session, preparing a presentation, paying, organizing
logistics, …
47. 2. Influence
• Conformity: Members are prepared to conform out of a
desire to belong
• Norms: Members agree to some level of norms – e.g. as
community members we decide to drive on a specific side of
the road – when people know the rules and how to operate
within the system things work!
48. 3. Reinforcement
• Meeting needs through other members:
• Exchange to meet needs: Communities make (non-monetary) trades to
meet needs:
1) Consensual trades – what we have in common – makes us feel better about
ourselves, feels good to be similar. BUT doesn’t lead to the exchange of value. It’s great
