The Sioux lived in tepees made of buffalo hides in the plains regions of the Midwest and Great Plains. They hunted buffalo and other game like deer and elk for food and used many parts of the buffalo for tools, weapons, containers, and clothing. They communicated in English, Sioux, and French and celebrated religious ceremonies like the sun dance.
