The Navajo people live in the southwestern United States across Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado. They build hexagonal wooden structures called hogans to live in, with mud used for the roof. The Navajo are traditionally hunters, farmers, and herders who raise sheep and grow crops like corn. They make clothing from animal skins and cotton, and use tools like bows and arrows as well as looms for weaving. Religion is centered around the four sacred mountains, and over 150,000 Navajo still speak their native language. Arts and crafts include silver jewelry, sand paintings, woven rugs, and pottery.
