Some projects are very complex or have very specific needs that fall outside the scope of
the previous categories; in that case, we have the capacity to design tailor-made projects
through the systemic mapping of business needs, and articulate the efforts of the
necessary experts to implement the project successfully.

9. Where to Begin?
Framing Session (diagnostics)
Every project must begin through the recognition of
what is today, defining the outcome we wish to see,
the lessons learned so far, and how to capitalize on it,
as well as identifying what we don´t know we don´t
know. This way, we gain an in-depth sensibility of the
problems and discover what is truly necessary.
Involves: Interviewing at least four stakeholders + company
owner. Performing a mapping of the pains and opportunities in
the company, and defining the desired future.
The result: A diagnostic with a full project proposal including
budget and project scope.
10. How do we Work?
Design and Implementation
Once we have done the Framing Session, we generate a
work proposal tailored to the needs and conditions
detected as well as the realities, objectives and scope of
the company. We involve members of the Kala team
depending on the kind of program and topics to cover.
Similarly, we design the project logistics and work
sessions to be as pragmatic and effective as possible.
Depending on design, there will be a combination of
individual and group sessions onsite; long-distance
sessions for follow-up; and stages where the Kala team
will need to be present for several days within the
company to understand the day-to-day dynamics.

12. Systemic Design for Decision Makers - Universidad
Mondragón - Querétaro Design Week.
Corporate Purpose and Systems Thinking for Companies -
Grupo Alltournative.
12 participants from universities, NGOs, government,
business chambers and energy enterprises obtained tools
and a fresh vision for a whole-systems, collaborative &
integrated development strategy of the Queretaro region
and activated an up-and-coming cross-sector project in an
executive, 3-hour workshop plus keynote speech within the
context of Queretaro Design Week 2018

13. Development of Company Culture Based on Happiness, Service and Competitive Edge
An integral 6-month process with Playa del Carmen-based restaurant group La Vagabunda, focused on the design and first-phase
implementation of their business culture, through training their operations and management team with basic skills and tools to
transition towards a Blue Organization and perform the first phase of building new habits, aligning personal and company purpose,
and developing an empowered dynamic within the teams with conflict management and communication. The program included work
with company owners, management and operations teams.

14. Intercultural Communication – United States
Embassy: Mexico - Public Affairs Section.
50 members of the Public Affairs Section at the United
States Embassy received tools to improve their internal
communication and work environment, collaboration and
cultural integration among member of over 5 countries,
while defining and activating changes and projects for
2018. Participants got to connect with their new and long-
time collaborators building trust and esprit de corps.

16. Authentic Motivation and Personal Purpose.
UT Riviera Maya teacher´s training program phase 1.
With the ultimate goal of being able to elicit
authentic motivation in their students, we worked
training two groups of teachers for 4 hours each,
with up to 20 participants per group. Across three
modules, this introductory experience provided
tools, conceptual frameworks and exercises to
begin the practice of self-reflection and
awareness, to develop a sense of deep, clear,
authentic personal purpose, to strengthen their
self-starting capacity.
A final section took the teachers through an
introduction to the process of user-centered
innovation design to begin developing ways to
bring this to the classroom. Follow-up phases will
develop implementation strategies for the
classroom with the university and teachers

Luis A. Martín del Campo Gómez
Kala Institute Co-Founder and CEO - Mexico.
Luis is an author, speaker, and leader in human
development. As entrepreneur he has devoted
the last 8 years to develop social and
environmental-impact project in Mexico, and
training entrepreneurs and changemakers. He
founded Sporah in 2011, the first Blue Economy
consultancy in Mexico, and led the first project
to use coffee waste into gourmet mushrooms,
collaborating with FEMSA and Starbucks. He
leads the development of regenerative economy
and clean energy projects in Quintana Roo
turning waste into energy. Recipient of several
prizes including the recognition as one of the
top 250 Young Leaders of the Americas by the
Obama Administration´s Department of State in
2016. Author of “The Dream of Mexico in 2034”.
Co-founder of Cancun Tech City (2018), driving
the development of a prosperous innovation
and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Cancun.
19. Gabriela Serrato Elizondo
Partner and Strategic Evolutionary Design
Director - Mexico
Speaker, trainer and polymathic consultant
expert in systems thinking and experience
design, with a firm purpose to change lives. She
is renowned for her leadership in experience
implementation of projects such as the first
Firenze Showroom (Lamosa) for Mexico City;
testing the experience design quality of
platforms and mobile apps for clients such as
eBay, Scotiabank, Walmart, Claro Video &
Santander. Has trained tens of designers with
her holistic vision. Within Kala, she leads the
design of practical systemic change tools within
the Changemakers Toolkit Project, in
collaboration with The Center for Applied
Cultural Evolution, focused on training the
generation of changemakers the world needs.

20. Majo Spitalnik
Co-Founder at Kala Institute & CEO in Uruguay
/ Argentina.
Majo is founder of Tedybujo, a creative startup
that brings imagination to life, turning children´s
drawings into plush toys. Currently
spearheading the Little Rebels campaign
promoting awareness of remarkable female
leaders. Majo has spent the last three years
working with child cancer patients bringing
them faith and something to fight for. She is a
Public Relations and Publicity Analyst.
Nominated for EY Young Entrepreneur of the
Year in 2017. Nominated for Entrepreneur of the
Year for Premios EmprendO. Nominated for
MIT´s 35 under 35. Awarded recognition as
Young Leader of the Americas Fellow by the US
Department of State in 2016.

Executive Director of Somoso CaPAZes foundation,
a nonprofit dedicated to the development of peace
culture and social fabric. Co-founder of
Educacionenpaz.org, a virtual platform to
promote education for peace and reconciliation
in Colombia and Latin Ameroca- Co-founder of
VR People, a Tech Startup that offers Virtual
Reality services. Paula is an Industrial Engineer
and Business Management Bachelor´s by the
Universirty of Los Andes, Colombia. Recognized
as Young Leader of the Americas (YLAI Fellow)
by the United Stated Dept of State in 2016. Fello
of the Generation Change 2017 cohort from the
United States Institute for Peace.

22. Joe Brewer
Associate Consultant in Culture Design, Developer of
Cultural Change Tools - USA
Joe has dedicated his life to helping humanity navigate
global challenges as a complexity researcher, innovation
strategist, and transdisciplinary scholar who brings a
wealth of expertise to the adoption of sustainable
solutions at the cultural scale. He weaves people and
knowledge across fields to build capacities for systemic
change.
He is founder of the Center for Applied Cultural Evolution,
a community of research scientists and change
practitioners who recognize the importance of taking an
integrative approach to tackle real-world problems; co-
founder of the Cultural Evolution Society, a global
scientific community dedicated to the study of cultural
evolution, has been the culture editor for This View of Life
at the Evolution Institute since 2014, is the co-founder of
Evonomics Magazine dedicated to the evolution of
economics, and has worked with a large variety of
nonprofits, social-impact businesses, and government
agencies to apply insights from the cognitive, behavioral,
and evolutionary sciences to large-scale social problems.

Nestlé Colombia (´89-´92) and Director General
of the Latin American Leadership Institute
