PERSONAL STATEMENT:
I have nine years experience of working in the children’s and early years sectors, at practitioner and
manager level. This has given me an excellent all round understanding of childcare in the voluntary,
private and statutory sector. I am a flexible, enthusiastic worker, who will seek solutions to
problems and get things done. I am self-motivated, hard working and passionate. I understand
school cultures, and have worked with schools to develop their inclusion for 0-5 provision for
children with special educational needs and disabilities, and their wraparound childcare for all ages.
I have excellent IT and verbal and written communication skills, and a full, clean driving licence. I
run a voluntary group called HOPE which supports families who have children with disabilities.
WORK HISTORY:
June 2014 – date: Project Leader, Family Action
Project leader on two DfE funded projects – the current one supports settings and schools to
improve their inclusion for 0-5s with special educational needs and disabilities, the previous one
around supporting schools to increase their wraparound childcare offer. Role includes:
• Identifying and engaging schools in the project, and working with them over a sustained period
to improve and develop practice
• Auditing current provision and developing action plans and sustainability plans
• Engaging with other key stakeholders such as parents and funder
• Writing resources such as case-studies and website content around good practice
• Organising regional and national events
• Having an excellent understanding of policies and issues affecting the childcare sector
