The MATTRAN project explored materials for carbon dioxide transport systems, focusing on identifying corrosion and degradation issues to facilitate CO2 transport and carbon capture and storage (CCS). The findings include the development of new methods for analyzing CO2 mixtures and the effects of impurities on pipeline materials, demonstrating minimal stress corrosion cracking in various tested environments. The project produced valuable data and established a dynamic rig for testing materials under realistic CO2 transportation conditions.
