Gideon the Judge discusses a Bible study on the story of Gideon from the book of Judges. It provides context on the time period of the judges in Israel, introduces Gideon and his family, and outlines the study which will cover God raising Gideon as a mighty man of valor to deliver Israel from the Midianites. The document gives details from the biblical account of Gideon pulling down Baal's altar, gathering an army, God reducing the army to 300 men, and Gideon's eventual victory over the Midianites.
The document provides a summary of Judges 6, which tells the story of Gideon. It describes how the Israelites were oppressed by Midian for seven years due to their disobedience. God calls Gideon to save Israel from Midian despite Gideon's doubts and weakness. Gideon asks God for two signs by putting fleece on the ground to confirm God's calling. God provides the signs. Gideon then destroys the altar of Baal and leads an army of 300 men to defeat the Midianites, showing that God was with them.
The document discusses the book of Judges in the Bible. It summarizes that the cycle shown in Judges is that the Israelites would be obedient and blessed by God, then turn to idolatry and self-reliance which led to oppression and bondage. They would then repent and cry out to God, who would send a deliverer to save them. It specifically discusses how Gideon was chosen by God to deliver the Israelites from the oppressive Midianites, despite his doubts, and how he and just 300 men were able to achieve victory through God's power.
This document provides a summary of Judges 6, which recounts the story of Gideon. It discusses how Gideon, though fearful, was called by God to save Israel from the Midianites. Gideon asked God for signs to confirm his calling, including putting out a fleece both times receiving confirmation. Gideon then recruited an army and, with God's help, defeated the Midianites with only 300 men. The document examines lessons from Gideon's story, including when it may be appropriate to seek signs from God and when it constitutes putting God to the test.
The document summarizes the biblical story of Gideon from the book of Judges. It describes how Gideon was chosen by God to lead the Israelites against the Midianites, even though he felt weak and outnumbered. With God's signs and guidance, Gideon is able to defeat the massive Midianite army with just 300 men. The story teaches lessons about trusting God even when facing difficulties, taking courageous stands for God, finding guidance through obedience, and experiencing God's empowerment through the Holy Spirit.

The Israelites were being oppressed by their enemies, but God called a deliverer to save them. Gideon doubted that he could save Israel as he felt weak and alone. God assured Gideon that he would defeat Israel's enemies as if they were one man because God would be with him. To confirm this, God performed a sign by consuming a sacrifice with fire from a rock. Though frightened by his encounter with an angel of God, Gideon built an altar and worshipped God as the God of peace.
David sinned greatly by committing adultery with Bathsheba and arranging for her husband Uriah to be killed. As a result, the prophet Nathan confronted David about his sins. David acknowledged his wrongdoing. Though God forgave David, the consequences of his actions remained. David wrote Psalm 51 expressing remorse, pleading for forgiveness, and vowing to walk faithfully with God going forward.

David is established as king over all Israel. He captures Jerusalem from the Jebusites and makes it his capital. David brings the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem from Kirjath Jearim, but God strikes down Uzzah for touching the Ark improperly during transport. David is afraid and houses the Ark with Obed-Edom for 3 months. When David moves the Ark correctly, he dances and worships God, but his wife Michal despises him for his actions. David responds that he was worshipping God who chose him over her father Saul. Michal remains childless for the rest of her life.
This document appears to be a sermon or bible study on bringing the Ark of God to Jerusalem during the time of King David. It discusses David's desire to bring the Ark to Jerusalem, how they went about transporting it incorrectly by cart instead of by priests as God instructed, and the consequences when Uzzah touched the Ark. It emphasizes the importance of doing things as God has said and of being right with God by turning from sin. When mistakes are made, it suggests acknowledging them, finding God's right way, and continuing on in faith.
1) David is established as king over all Israel. He captures Jerusalem from the Jebusites and makes it his capital.
2) David brings the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem from Kirjath Jearim. During the procession, Uzzah is struck dead for touching the Ark.
3) After three months with Obed-Edom, David successfully transports the Ark to Jerusalem with sacrifices and dancing. Michal criticizes David for his dancing, but he defends his actions as being before the Lord.
Joshua chapters 7-8, How do you fix an Achan heart?; Joshua’s Interrupted Prayer; Hebrew words for “sin;” Consecrated Saints yet accursed; Consecrate qadash; heap tel; Mount Ebal, Gerizim; Egyptian scarab; Shechem
The document discusses chapters 7 and 8 of the book of Joshua. It begins by recounting Israel's victory over Jericho through obeying God's commands. However, after this victory, one man named Achan disobeyed by taking some devoted items from Jericho. As a result, the Israelites were defeated in their next battle against Ai. Achan confessed to taking a robe, silver, and gold from Jericho. The document notes that even one person's sin can affect the whole community, as God views his people as one body. It emphasizes the importance of obedience and avoiding things devoted to destruction.
Become The Person God Wants You To Be,Become A Cell Leader In The Church Sept...Edward John Bucles
This document discusses how to become a leader that God wants you to be through the example of Gideon from the book of Judges. It outlines four steps: 1) yield to God's call to be a leader, 2) build an altar to God by prioritizing worship over other commitments, 3) follow God's changes by transforming your character, and 4) maintain a growing faith through challenges that strengthen it. The conclusion states that deliverance from oppression in the Philippines depends on Christians obeying God by becoming leaders in his kingdom.
The Angel of the Lord appears to Gideon as he is hiding wheat from the Midianites. Though Gideon questions God's presence due to their hardship, God tells him to save Israel with the strength he has. Gideon doubts his own abilities since he comes from the weakest clan, but God promises to be with him and help him defeat the Midianites. The lesson is that we all have strengths given by God, and we should focus on and use those strengths to overcome difficulties rather than dwelling on perceived weaknesses.
1) Abigail went to David and pleaded for the life of her husband Nabal, known as "the fool", to save David from killing him in anger.
2) Abigail reminded David that vengeance belongs to God alone and persuaded him to let God deal with his enemies instead of taking matters into his own hands.
3) After Nabal held a drunken feast, Abigail did not tell him what happened until morning. When he heard, he had a heart attack and died, showing that God dealt with Nabal as Abigail had hoped.
This document discusses key passages from Exodus 20 that summarize the Ten Commandments given by God to Moses and the Israelites. It examines what it means for God to be their ruler and for the Israelites to have no other gods before Him. It explores how they should not create images of God as He cannot be contained or defined. It emphasizes expressing deep reverence for God's name and resting in His greatness and provision on the Sabbath. The document aims to refresh one's vision of who God is and how believers should live in light of His commandments.
The Philistines captured the Ark of God from Israel and brought it to several of their cities, including Ashdod, Gath, and Ekron. However, in each city the god Dagon was destroyed and the people were afflicted with tumors. Recognizing this as the judgment of God, the Philistines decided to return the Ark to Israel rather than have it bring further destruction to their people.
What occurred for Israel when they passed through the Red Sea? (Deut. 6:23) What occurred for Israel when they passed through the Jordan River? (Gal. 2:20) What does each “passage” symbolize and how do these “passages” apply to you? When did Israel arrive at Gilgal? (4:19) Why is this date significant? What two major events occurred at Gilgal? (5:2-8 & 10-12) How are these events applicable to your life? On what date did God cease providing manna? (5:11) Why is this important and how is it relevant to you? Who did Joshua meet on the eve of Israel’s battle at Jericho? (5:13-15) How important was this meeting? Why? These and other questions are addressed in this study.
David holiness and the ark of the covenant seth g march 10 2019Pacific Church
This week we see king David is bringing the Ark of the Covenant out of the land of the Philistines, to house it in Jerusalem. One of the men touches the Ark and immediately dies. David is angry and sullen. It seems unfair. How are we to think of this story? What was God trying to say to David and the people of Israel?
Gideon felt weak and insignificant, but an angel told him that God was with him and sending him to rescue Israel from the Midianites. Gideon questioned why God had abandoned them if He was with them. The angel insisted that Gideon should go in the strength he had. What helped Gideon see the words fulfilled was that he believed and accepted them with all his heart. Through surrendering his weaknesses at the cross, Gideon saw how God transformed them into great strength as he defeated the Midianites with only empty pots, torches, and a trumpet.
Book of Genesis - The Story of Two Brothers [Cain & Abel] Bibilium
The "Story of Two Brothers" is an account of the first death that took place on Planet Earth due to the jealousy of the elder brother, Cain, a farmer, over his younger brother, Abel, a shepherd. The first two sons of Adam and Eve offered sacrifices to God; however, God favored Abel's sacrifice and not Cain's. Knowing that Cain was seething in anger, God warned about sin consuming him. Cain chose to ignore God's warning and murdered his younger brother.
Know how God always admonishes and warns us of the impending danger. Only if we would listen to Him, we would stay away from sin.
1. Gideon and his 300 men pursued the kings of Midian, Zebah and Zalmunna, despite being exhausted from battle.
2. When Gideon asked the men of Succoth and Peniel for food and supplies, they refused to help his weary troops.
3. Undaunted, Gideon continued pursuing the kings with their 15,000 men despite being outnumbered 50 to 1, trusting in God's promise of victory.
This document summarizes King David's journey to bring the Ark of God to Jerusalem. It describes how David initially made a mistake in how he transported the Ark, which resulted in God striking down Uzzah. David then left the Ark with Obed-Edom. After seeing that God blessed Obed-Edom's household, David then properly brought the Ark into Jerusalem with sacrifices, dancing, and celebrations. However, David's wife Michal criticized him for his enthusiastic worship, showing she did not understand displaying devotion to God. The document encourages vigorous and heartfelt praise of God in our worship.
1) Joseph devised a plan to test the brothers by putting his silver cup in Benjamin's sack. When confronted, Judah took responsibility for Benjamin and offered himself as a slave so that Benjamin could return home with his brothers.
2) Judah demonstrated maturity and leadership by pleading for Benjamin's release, recognizing their wrongdoing, and prioritizing their father's well-being over his own freedom.
3) Though the brothers had previously acted immaturely, Judah's speech showed he had grown in character, foreshadowing his future role as a leader of the Israelites.

The document discusses the differences between the Old Testament view of salvation and the New Testament view. In the Old Testament, salvation was seen as deliverance from earthly enemies and restoration of Israel's kingdom, rather than deliverance from sin. Old Testament saints did not go to heaven at death but were "gathered to their people." It was not until Jesus' ascension that Old Testament saints entered heaven. The document contrasts this with the New Testament view where salvation is defined as deliverance from sin through faith in Jesus, and believers go immediately to heaven at death.
Jesus Christ is the incarnation of God. As the Word made flesh, He dwelt among mankind and brought salvation. Through the virgin birth, God took on human form in Jesus Christ to save humanity from sin and death. Christ's incarnation fulfilled prophecies that the Messiah would be born of a virgin. It is through faith in Christ's atoning death and resurrection that believers have eternal life.
God instructed Joshua to attack Ai, just as they had attacked Jericho. Joshua sent 30,000 soldiers to lay in ambush behind the city while the rest of the army approached Ai. When the soldiers of Ai came out to fight, the Israelites pretended to flee, drawing them away from the city. Then the ambush rose up and captured the city, burning it as God had commanded. God used strategy, not direct intervention, to defeat Ai, showing that He operates in various ways according to His will.

Gideon was outnumbered by the Midianite army 4 to 1, yet God told him he had too many men. God had Gideon reduce his army to just 300 men. Gideon and his 300 men snuck into the Midianite camp at night and overheard the enemy saying they feared Gideon and that God had delivered them into Gideon's hands. Encouraged, Gideon attacked with his 300 men blowing trumpets and breaking pitchers, which caused the Midianite army to panic and start killing each other in their confusion and fear. God gave Gideon and the Israelites a great victory over the much larger Midianite army.
This document summarizes the sermon given at Gospel Baptist Tabernacle on October 20, 2013. The sermon focused on 2 Samuel 22, which describes King David's song of praise to God for delivering him from his enemies and making him victorious. The sermon emphasized that God will be all that people need, just as he was for David, by saving those who need a savior, providing for those in need, and comforting those who are grieving, as long as people fully commit to seeking God with their whole heart.
Acts 1-2 provides an account of Jesus' ascension into heaven and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Peter addresses the crowd in Jerusalem, explaining that Jesus' resurrection fulfills the prophecy of Joel. About 3,000 people are baptized and join the early Christian fellowship. The new believers devote themselves to teaching, fellowship, prayer, and sharing their possessions.
God removed Noah and Lot from the impending destruction of the ancient world through floods and fire. The Bible indicates God will similarly remove believers before pouring out his judgment on the earth during the future "Day of the Lord." Three key events are described: 1) the rapture, when Jesus will return secretly to gather believers alive at his coming; 2) the revealing of the Antichrist during the ensuing 7-year tribulation; 3) the visible return of Christ to defeat the Antichrist at the end of the tribulation, introducing the final judgment and eternal state.
A Levite's concubine was raped and murdered by men from the tribe of Benjamin in Gibeah. The Levite cut her body into 12 pieces and sent them throughout Israel to demand justice. The Israelites gathered a large army to attack Gibeah for this crime. The tribe of Benjamin refused to hand over the guilty men and also gathered an army to defend Gibeah, though they were greatly outnumbered by the Israelite army.

Peter preaches to the crowd about Jesus, explaining how he fulfilled prophecies as the Messiah approved by God through miracles, but was rejected and crucified by the Jews. However, God raised Jesus from the dead as he said he would, and Jesus now sits at the right hand of God in heaven. Peter tells the crowd that they should repent and be baptized in Jesus' name to receive forgiveness of sins and the Holy Spirit.

4 Things to learn as we look at the story of Gideon:
1. Gideon had the Promise of God’s Presence
2. Gideon saw the Performance of God’s Plan
3. Gideon saw the Provision of God’s Power
4. Gideon saw the Proof of God’s Possibilities
This document summarizes several biblical stories of figures who cried out to God during times of need, including David, Job, Samson, Jonah, ravens, and a blind man. It encourages readers that no matter who they are, if they cry out to God in truth, He will answer them as He is near to all who call on Him. Jesus Christ is described as the only God who will answer people's cries.
This document discusses the importance of obeying God's commands in order to experience his blessings and presence. It references passages from the Bible explaining how the Israelites were instructed to observe religious festivals three times a year, honor God with offerings, and rest on the Sabbath. By following God's ways exactly as instructed, they would be protected from enemies and have prosperity in their land. The document also describes how Moses' face shone brightly after communing with God on Mount Sinai, illustrating how close intimacy with God can transform a person.
God gave Jephthah victory over the Ammonites. However, Jephthah foolishly vowed that whoever came out of his house first upon his return would be sacrificed to God. Unfortunately, his daughter came out to greet him. Jephthah was distraught but could not go back on his vow. His daughter submitted to her fate, asking only for two months to mourn with her friends before being sacrificed, as per her father's vow.
1) Elisha prophesied that food prices in Samaria would return to normal by the next day, despite a famine.
2) Four leprous men at the gate of Samaria decided to seek food from the camp of the Syrian army besieging the city, finding it abandoned with food and supplies left behind.
3) The men informed the king of Israel about the empty Syrian camp, fulfilling Elisha's prophecy as the people of Samaria could now leave the city to gather supplies, returning food prices to normal. The lord who doubted Elisha's prophecy was trampled to death at the city gate as predicted.
1. The document is a sermon discussing 2 Peter 2 and warning about people who ignore God's commands and lead others astray for their own desires.
2. It discusses false teachers who promise freedom from rules but instead lead people into bondage to sinful desires and pleasures.
3. The sermon warns that those who know God's truth but choose to return to sinful ways will find themselves in an even worse situation than before they knew the truth.
1. Naaman, the commander of the Syrian army, was afflicted with leprosy. A young Israelite servant girl suggested he visit the prophet Elisha in Israel to be healed.
2. Elisha instructed Naaman to wash seven times in the Jordan River. Angry at first, Naaman followed the instruction and was healed of his leprosy.

1. The kings of Israel, Judah, and Edom joined forces to attack Moab but ran out of water in the wilderness. They called upon the prophet Elisha for help.
2. Elisha told them God would fill the valley with water and also deliver the Moabites into their hands. They dug ditches as instructed and God provided water, though there was no wind or rain.
3. The next morning, the Moabites saw the water across from them as red as blood, assuming their enemies had killed each other. When they went to plunder the camp, the Israelite army defeated them soundly as God had promised.
The document is a sermon about virtues in women based on passages from Proverbs 31. It discusses the virtues of a virtuous woman, including that she works hard and takes care of her household and family, is generous to those in need, and speaks with wisdom. It notes that true virtue is valuable and scarce, and that a virtuous person works diligently rather than being lazy. It concludes by saying virtue should be desired in all people, not just women, and that practicing good virtues requires hard work beyond just believing them.
The document contains passages from the Bible discussing King Jehoram of Israel, Elisha the prophet, and the use of music in worship. Jehoshaphat was king of Judah for 25 years and largely followed the righteous ways of his father, King Asa. However, he did not fully remove the pagan high places from the land. A375 Example Taste the taste of the Lord, the taste of the Lord The taste of...franktsao4
It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
312 A Wise Woman of Abel Beth Maakah Saves The Town
Judges 6d
1. God called Gideon to deliver His people. May 16, 2010 I am the least. Tear down Baal's altar. Build an altar unto God.
2. 30 Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it. But God is at work here; He will raise Gideon up.
3. God was raising up Gideon to lead the Israelites and deliver them from oppression. This seems an odd way to do it.
4. 31 And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar. If Baal was a powerful god, he could defend himself . God has intentionally set Gideon against Baal. If Baal is strong, let him defeat Gideon. But Gideon had already defeated Baal.
5. 32 Therefore on that day he called him Jerub-baal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar. Don't be surprised; Jesus said it would be this way . His daddy saw the Truth here, and sided with Gideon and thereby with God. But many will hate us as we stand for Truth.
6. John 15 17 These things I command you, that ye love one another. 18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own : but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you . 20 Remember the Word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept My saying, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things will they do unto you for My Name's sake , because they know not Him that sent Me.
7. 33 Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel. The enemy has come out against God's people. But things are different this time: Israel has a leader chosen of God .
8. Satan is the enemy of all that is good. He hates God and he hates God's people.
9. 34 But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer (A bigh ee zuhr) was gathered after him. 35 And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him: and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and they came up to meet them. We have God's Holy Spirit within us. He is our Source: Wisdom Power Ability
10. His father's people were the first to follow Gideon. God took the least of all, filled him with the Holy Spirit , and made him the leader of all.
11. 36 And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said, 37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside , then shall I know that Thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as Thou hast said. 38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
12. 39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew. 40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.
13. God was merciful unto Gideon and gave him three signs that He was God and He was with Gideon.
14. Romans 8 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Human logic is the devil's stronghold . Physical signs can be misleading. Jesus said that He would send the Gift of the Holy Spirit to lead us into all Truth. May we depend solely on Him.
15. We don't need signs to believe God. We have His Spirit within us. God will speak to us through His Word and by His Spirit. Stay in communion with the Lord. You will know what to do.
16. I come to the garden alone, While the dew is still on the roses; And the voice I hear, falling on my ear, The Son of God discloses. He speaks, and the sound of His voice Is so sweet, The birds hush their singing, And the melody that He gave to me, Within my heart is ringing. And He walks with me, And He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own; And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known.
