He is known for his imaginative landscape and turbulent, often violent marine paintings. Turner's oldest painting was called "Dutch Boats in a Gale" from 1801, while his most famous work was the 1844 painting "Rain, Steam and Speed - The Great Western Railway". Turner died in Chelsea, England on December 19th, 1851 at the age of 76.
