Joseph Mallord William Turner was an English romantic painter, printmaker and watercolorist born in London, England on April 23rd, 1775. He is known for his imaginative landscape and turbulent, often violent marine paintings. Turner's oldest painting was called "Dutch Boats in a Gale" from 1801, while his most famous work was the 1844 painting "Rain, Steam and Speed - The Great Western Railway". Turner died in Chelsea, England on December 19th, 1851 at the age of 76.
