Mobile phones have come a long way since the first call was made in 1973. They were initially very expensive and large, resembling laptop computers. Over the past few decades, mobile phones have become much more affordable and popular. They have also evolved to include additional features like cameras, games, and internet access. While mobile phones have changed many aspects of communication, their widespread use has also created some new problems regarding health, safety, and addiction.

2. In the beginning
The first mobile phone call was made in New York in
1973.
In1985,you could buy one in the UK for about £2000.
It was as big as laptop computer,and you only had
twenty minutes of conversation.
They were popular with rich young business
people.

3. After ten years
Mobile phones became very popular.
The change happened because people started
use mobile phones to talk to their family and
friends.
The mobile phones company Vodafone started to
get lots of users.
In the past,a phones number was something that
belonged to a place,but now the
number belonges to the person.

4. Text messages
In the late 1990 people started using their phones
to send text messages.
Text messages use their own kind of language.
For example: CU L8R,
Speakers of other languages do the same thing.

Young people send messages very fast!

5. New mobile phones
Nowadays mobile phones have a
camera,games,even Internet.
Today's phones are small and beautiful.
There are many kinds of phones:touch
screen,type,or both.
And many brands:
Samsung,Nokia,Motorola,Blackberry,HTC,Sony
Ericsson...

6. The problems
Children are becoming victims of crime because
they carry mobile phones.
Phones are bad for people's health.Radiation is
debated for years now.
If people use them while they are driving,roads
are more dangerous.
Some people can become addicted.

7. The future
The numbers of users continues to grow.
The phones change very quickly every year.
Some countries,for example Hong Kong have
more mobile phones than people.
We don't know what will happen,but it seems that
mobile phones will be necessary for everyday
life.
