• Two pair of opposite sides are parallel and
equal.
• Diagonals bisect each other.
• Opposite angles are equal.
AREA OF PARALLELOGRAM
Area of parallelogram=½ × a × h
where a=Base
h=Height
PROBLEM
Find the area of parallelogram whose sides are 8cm
and 5cm?
a=8cm, h=5cm
Area of parallelogram = ½ × a × h
=½ x 8 x 5
=10 cm²

Area of rhombus = ½ ×d₁ x d₂
where d₁ and d₂ diagonals of rhombus
PROBLEM
Find the area of rhombus whose diagonals
are 8cm and 6cm
d₁ =8 cm d₂= 6cm
Area of rhombus = ½ × d₁ x d₂
= ½ x 8 x 6
=24cm²
