John Mayer is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist born in 1977 in Connecticut. He began playing guitar inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughan and attended Berklee College of Music before dropping out. He formed the band Lofi Masters and began his solo career after being discovered playing in Atlanta. Mayer has won Grammys and his album Continuum brought him widespread success.
