John Keats was an English Romantic poet born in 1795 in London. He wrote famous odes characterized by elaborate language and sensual imagery that remain popular in English literature today. Keats developed tuberculosis like others in his family, and moved to Italy with a friend in 1820, where he died the following year at age 25 and was buried in Rome with a simple tombstone marking his unwritten name.
